🏆 Referee announced for 2026 #SuperCup!
We're pleased to share that Somali referee Omar Artan will officiate the highly anticipated match between PSG and Aston Villa in Salzburg.
When I started working in the bank, my parents lived in Alakuko, so I used to commute from home every day.
I would wake up as early as 3am, leave the house before 5am, and sometimes get home by 12am if there was traffic…
This particular day, one of my colleagues cooked beans… if you’re a banker, you’ll understand that kind of “beans” 😂 the type that everybody in the branch must eat from.
It was a shortage of 500k, so we had to rally around because our BOM insisted the money must be cleared. That kept me very late at work, and I couldn’t travel back to Alakuko that night.
I took a bus to Obalende, my plan was to look for a church to sleep in… one thing my mum always told us is that if we are stranded, we should look for a church for shelter.
I walked around Obalende and luckily, I saw a white garment church (C&S). I entered and greeted them, but the pastor said they had received a message earlier in the week not to accept any stranger into the church.
I left…
Then I saw a small bus outside the church, so I entered and sat there because at that point, I didn’t know what else to do. I was even thinking of getting a hotel when a boy came out… he looked about 23–25. He was the son of the woman from the church. He came outside and told me to sneak in.
He and his mum took me to a room called ile abo and offered me a net and a mat.
That was how I slept there… although I couldn’t sleep till daybreak because I was scared 😔
In the morning, he had already gotten me a new toothbrush. I also got a new dress and changed into it.
We exchanged numbers and became very close. He was like a brother to me…
That same month, when I got my salary, I bought 5 white garment materials for them.
One day, I went to work as usual, and one of my customers mentioned he was looking for a receptionist. I asked for the pay and told him I had a brother who just graduated. He gave me his email address and asked him to send him an email and mention my name.
I couldn’t even wait till after work…
I called him during my break. He prepared his CV and sent it immediately.
He went for the interview a week later and got the job… the pay was 180k for a start
That same customer later relocated to the USA in 2024, but before he left, he referred him for an accountant role in one of the big companies on the island. He said my brother was a great guy and he could vouch for him.
Today, he’s doing so well for himself, taking care of his family… they no longer live in church anymore 🥹
When I was travelling, he sent me 300k as his own support. There’s no week we don’t FaceTime…
We spoke last night when he asked if he should relocate to Germany or the UK for his master’s… he got admission in both countries. I know he’s going to do great things.
Anyways, that call was the reason I remembered this story… and I thought to share ❤️
You really never know how far a small act of kindness can go ❤️
What happened at the hospital changed how I see nurses forever.
In Nigeria, many people complain about nurses, their sharp tone, strict faces, and the way they say “next person!” like they’re angry. So when I got to the hospital that day and one nurse spoke to me with that same serious expression, I immediately assumed she was rude
The waiting room was full. Babies crying, someone’s aunt fanning herself with a file, one generator outside struggling for breath, and everybody murmuring about how long they had been there. Then an old man near the corner suddenly slumped from his chair. Before anyone could even process what happened, that same “rude” nurse ran faster than everyone in the room. She caught his head before it hit the floor, started shouting instructions, checked his pulse, called for oxygen, and somehow stayed calm while all of us were panicking.
For almost twenty minutes she didn’t stop moving. Sweat everywhere, gloves on, voice firm, eyes focused. The old man finally responded, and the whole room exhaled together. Then she stood up, adjusted her scarf, looked at the next patient and said, “Who is next?” in the same stern voice.
That was when it hit me, some people are not rude, they’re just carrying pressure we cannot see. Since that day, I’ve respected nurses differently. Nigeria will stress you, yet some people still show up daily to save lives.
My wife just phoned me and the conversation went like this:
Her: “You know that Gladiator movie that I got you for Christmas…?”
Me: “Yeah.”
Her: “Wind it forward one hour, 16 minutes and 28 seconds.”
Me: “Right, I’ve done that.”
Her: “Okay, you see the gladiator at the front fighting the lion…?”
Me: “I can see that, yeah.”
Her: “Just behind him, there are two gladiators having a sword fight with each other…?”
Me: “Okay, I see them.”
Her: “Well, behind those two, on the left-hand side of the screen, there’s a gladiator holding a spear…?”
Me: “Yes…! I can see him.”
Her: “Right…! Those are the sandals I want for my birthday.”
I graduated from the University with a first class, and my Dad is to blame.
During my university days, my Dad would call me every day.
I mean, every day between 5 and 6am.
He is ruthless.
When he calls, you'd better not sound sleepy.
He will say something like: Don’t sleep away your greatness😩
He will ask me about my CGPA every day.
He will say: ‘You too can make a first class’
He will say: ‘That test you did last week, is the result out now’.
He gave me serious close marking.
He will come to school unannounced, and if I am in class, he will sit under a tree and wait for me to finish.

‘I am teary now’ - jeeeeez
I did not have any margin to fumble.
For 4 years! He was consistent.
And I remembered so vividly the day I told him my final results were out and that I would be graduating with a first class. He hugged me so tight, like I was his completed project.
He wore his best agbada to my graduation. Hahaha.
I wore this badge with pride for 15 years.

September 2022, a guy entered my dm distressed, his wife was in Labor and he didn’t have any money. He had just returned to Nigeria after years abroad. We raised all he needed with extra, but since then, he checks in every now and then, whenever the boy crosses a milestone to inform me.
Today, I got a message that they have another child and things have turned around positively for them.
I honestly don’t know why I’m posting this, maybe to reassure many people going through the same phase right now that it gets better. Keep going.
Muslims, Listen Carefully — This Message Is for Us
Some people are asking why Badaru was removed as Minister of Defence and replaced with Christopher Musa. Let’s be honest with ourselves: Nigeria does not belong to Muslims alone, and it does not belong to Christians alone.
Being a Muslim does not automatically make anyone a better leader, and being a Christian does not make anyone less capable. What truly matters is competence, dedication, and results. Christopher Musa is now in this position, and what we should expect from him is performance — not because of his religion, but because that is what leadership demands.
We must stop viewing national issues through the lens of religion. We must stop judging leaders based on faith instead of their work. We are Nigerians first, and our loyalty should be to the progress of our country above all else.
My fellow Muslims, let us understand this clearly: Nigeria is for all of us. Serve your nation sincerely. Judge leaders by their actions. Stand for unity. What Allah has destined is bigger than Islam, bigger than Christianity — it is about the future of our Nigeria.
When i fought with my sister in school, my younger brother likes me so much, he saw that my elder sister was beating me badly. He came in and joined hands to beat her.
Our headmistress called our dad and told him.
The moment we got home, my dad wasn’t around, he came back in the evening and called us to line up outside to fight. The three of us. Omo that day we fought eeeh. He just sat down watching us fight with the koboko in his hands. My younger brother was giving my sister blow, my sister was hitting me. Lazy me I no kuku get strength, na mouth I get , my dad saw I was the lazy one who can’t fight.
This man flogged me bullshit as he was flogging me he was shouting “fight, fight, fight. Na only mouth you get.
Since that day till today I haven’t fought with anyone. That beating and fight still traumatizes me. And after the fight no one fought again in our house.

My immediate sister got married a little bit late.
Her husband proposed on her 30th birthday
2 years before she was engaged, about 3 of her friends got married that year, and she showed up and out for them.
One day, I was passing through my mum's room, and she was crying and praying that God settled my sister soon, and I rushed in to console her.
Fast forward to now,my sister is living her best life, married to her best friend(a man who won't see her suffer at all)
When she was pregnant of her 1st child,my mum got worried again because she's frail and too simple and wasn't in the country where she could monitor and help her out. But she had her first baby, and then the second one came without complications....
You know i look at her and draw my strength from her
She's a definition of God's beautiful love♥️
I wrote a 4-page letter to an embassy after they denied me visa 10 years ago and had the temerity to minute on my passport. The letter wasn’t for the visa denial. I did that accepting that I’d never visit that country, because I expected to be banned. They granted me a visa months later. They are now my preferred visa point for Europe.
I called out another one for their process and they graciously not only reached out, they reversed their initial decision and granted visa to someone they had denied before. After I guaranteed that the person was genuine and would return. She did return. We cooperate on a number of fronts.
I repeatedly called out another one for insisting, after so many years, that only an uncouth and reckless man can man their gate and address Nigerians. When next I go there and I see that man, I will call them out again!
These are 3 instances of many. Whatever you’ve seen me do on video, I am more direct in person and by email. I don’t hold back because there is no audience whose feelings I must take into account.
If you think that I care about my visa being revoked, then you must have no idea where I am coming from. There is no country in this world that I must visit. None. And that’s not because I already visited most of them. That wasn’t the case when I did what I did in paragraph 1. Thank God for Zoom.
You must accept that some people are made different. Not all of us must feel less before fellow humans on account of their skin or the strength of their country. Those of you who do that already do a great job of it. That’s why you think they are never wrong and why we must be here to moderate that delusion.

Fabrizio posted purely footballing stats, and you responded with a NON-footballing essay which Messi don’t care about. Messi didn't even show up at the White House for his presidential medal of freedom award. Also turned down a bigger deal in Saudi. The guy's priorities are football and family.
YOU ARE NOT A MESSI FAN !!
You are just too ashamed to claim being a Ronaldo fan cos you know Messi is better hence your disguise.
