The entire country is reeling from the shock of the disgraceful surrender of a constitutional body like the ECI to the BJP. Yet, shameless and emboldened, the BJP–ECI nexus continues with Vote Chori unabated.

In Belagavi, Karnataka, nearly 15,000 votes are now being targeted for illegal deletion in one go - disproportionately affecting Muslims, SCs, STs and OBCs.

Their supposed “crime”? They are likely not to vote for the BJP.

And, as the BJP’s Chief Minister in West Bengal has reiterated, removal from the electoral rolls through SIR may also lead to exclusion from welfare benefits.

This is not just Vote Chori. The BJP’s real objective is to punish those who do not vote for the BJP - first by removing them from the voter rolls, and then by denying them the benefits they are entitled to.

This is not just Vote Chori. It is inducing threats, intimidation and fear. the weaponisation of the State against citizens for exercising their democratic choice.

Expose by @varthabharati: In a call recording, a Vartha Bharathi reporter speaks with a couple who filed Form 7 objections seeking bulk Muslim voter deletions. The husband and wife, both BJP workers from Madikeri Assembly constituency says, they received printed Form 7s from the party office and that 50 objections were filed from their booth alone.

BJP worker 1 : Yes.

Journalist: How many form 7s have you applied madam.

BJP worker 1: What is it about Sir?

Journalist: You had submitted Form 7 to delete other person's vote. Against how many people have you applied in your booth.

Journalist: Was it because they were not staying in the village?

BJP worker 1: Yes. Hmm.. No.

BJP worker 2: We had a doubt, That's why we applied. We thought, They might have two voter ids.

Karnataka CM DK Shivakumar held a press conference today and said it straight.

BJP and JD(S) workers filed Form-7 applications in bulk to delete voters.
He says applications to delete 45 lakh names were filed, and up to 50 to 60 lakh could be targeted.

In Vijayapura alone, 14,000 applications were filed in two days.
His minister MB Patil says seven BJP workers filed the forms for over 13,000 voters, mostly Muslims.
The seat was won by around 6,000 votes in 2023.

Then these workers were warned of punishment if the claims were found false.
They withdrew the forms and apologised in writing.

Read that again.
They withdrew only after they were warned.
Why did nobody stop them before?

FIRs are already registered in Belagavi, Bhalki and Mysuru.
And DK Shivakumar did not just give a speech.
He went to the CEO's office, sat on a dharna with his ministers, and said he won't leave until a criminal inquiry is ordered.

Bro, you vote every five years.
You stand in the sun for an hour.
And one day some stranger fills a form saying "this man doesn't live here" and your name is gone.
You find out at the booth, when it is too late. 😡

This is what the SIR has become.
The Election Commission should be protecting your vote.
Instead it is the one that has to be forced to even order an inquiry.

5. Who at TCS received that instruction?
6. Which TCS official approved the technical change?
7. Who conducted user -acceptance testing?
8. Who authorised deployment to the live ECINET portal?
9. What were the deployment date, time and server or change-log entries?
10. The change was not approved by the full three-member Commission. So who authorised it ?

ECI's own statutory Electoral Registration Officers had found 97 voters eligible after hearings. But ECINET did not provide them a functioning mechanism to reverse the earlier deletion.

Goa officials sent eight communications in seven days seeking the facility. The ECI's Deputy Election Commissioner specifically wrote to DG-IT Seema Khanna that the IT system could not block action required pursuant to the Supreme Court's directions.

The matter ultimately involved TCS, because the software functionality was controlled through the ECI's digital infrastructure.

𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗿𝗮𝗶𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Has the software architecture effectively constrained or overridden powers that election officials are supposed to exercise under election ?

Because of @IndianExpress investigation we have come to know Goa episode, there might be many instances like this one all over India where SIR was done .

𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 ??

If two Election Commissioners had already recorded that the statutory Form 6 could not be altered without amending the Rules, under whose written authority was the altered Form 6 nevertheless put on ECINET? Who instructed TCS? Who at TCS approved it? Who authorised its deployment? And where is the audit trail?
