Even before these cancellations, that lineup was pretty weak.
Instead of begging for post-peak acts, the organizers should have created a list of some of the better small-label/Independent artists, playing in mid-size venues and outdoor festivals, who would LOVE the exposure and would be excited to be in the celebration! And during the Spring there should have been an American Idol-type of mini-contest, with the winner earning a spot in the lineup.

They should have focused more on selecting from the hundreds of small-label/independent artists who tour in smaller venues and outdoor festivals, who would LOVE the exposure and appreciate the celebration. Could have also had an American Idol mini-contest, to earn a spot in the show.

@VigilantFox Seems like a very broad stereotyping. Many of those guys had to compete and succeed at high D1 levels and were often All-Conference players. Even filling depth/special team roles on the 53 is still successful. But still, most do wash out.
