#ONEPIECE1185
Brook encountered the darkness of the World Government when he was just 28 years old.
The Marines, a Gorosei, a Knight of God (possibly), and a royalty possessed by Imu, who was very close to him.
Brook is now 90 years old.
At that time, the rest of the Straw Hat crew hadn't even been born yet.
🔹 Jinbe (46) would not be born for another 16 years.
🔹 Franky (36) would not be born for another 26 years.
🔹 Robin (30) would not be born for another 32 years.
🔹 Zoro and Sanji (21) would not be born for another 41 years.
🔹 Nami (20) would not be born for another 42 years.
🔹 Luffy and Usopp (19) would not be born for another 43 years.
🔹 Chopper (17) would not be born for another 45 years.
He grew up in poverty, yet maintained a positive outlook despite life's hardships.
Even at a young age, he displayed loyalty, honor, and gratitude—traits that remained with him throughout his entire life.
He lost his benefactors, his home kingdom, and his ward.
He became a pirate and joined the Rumbar Pirates under Captain Yorki.
He met Laboon and formed a lifelong friendship with him. He promised to return after sailing across the Grand Line.
But the Grand Line showed no mercy.
His crew lost to the challenge. He watched his crewmates, the Rumbar Pirates perish before his eyes until he was the last one left.
Then he died as well.
His Devil Fruit, the Yomi Yomi no Mi (Revive-Revive Fruit) activated, but his soul became lost in the Florian Triangle. It wandered aimlessly for an entire year before finally finding its way back to his body.
By then, his body had decayed into a skeleton.
He came back to life, only to spend decades alone in the Florian Triangle.
Then he lost his shadow.
Eventually, one fateful day, he met the Straw Hat Pirates.
They fought together, side by side.
He got his shadow back.
He learned that Laboon was still alive and waiting for him after all those years.
For the first time in a long while, he was grateful from the bottom of his heart to still be alive.
He found a new home.
He entrusted his second life to his new captain, Monkey D. Luffy, and became a member of the Straw Hat Pirates.
But that happiness was short-lived. (temporarily)
At Sabaody, the crew was torn apart and scattered across the world.
Brook spent the next two years training and growing stronger before reuniting with his newfound family.
Together, they ventured into the New World.
And somewhere along the way, during the Egghead Incident, Brook once again found himself face-to-face with the darkness of the World Government.
In Elbaph, he had an unexpected reunion with his ward.
Now, after all these years, he is finally beginning to see the full picture of the darkness that has ruled the world from behind closed curtains.
And today, we are witnessing the story of his distant past unfold before our eyes.
He called the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, a freakin’ “rookie.”
He knew about the Vinsmoke Family. He knew about the samurais of Wano Country.
He was the first member of the Straw Hat crew to ever face an Emperor (Yonko) in battle—Charlotte Linlin—and did so fearlessly. He even called her a “young lady.”
My goodness... Brook has lived a LIFE.
And it's still not over yet.
He's definitely one of the best-written characters in One Piece.
I can’t wait to learn more about his past and how it connects to the way his present will unfold.
"Soul King" Brook 💀🎻
