@BelvideBirding Fantastic achievement mate & a massive thanks, on behalf of all Staffs birders, for the array of county megas you’ve found us over the years 🍻
@WestMidBirdClub Not a fan of the new logo if I’m honest. All for modernisation but the logo doesn’t do that for me. The bins look like the first pair I owned in the late 1980’s! I’d have a rethink on that one…
@BelvideBirda@WestMidBirdClub You’re almost tempting fate that they’ll be another addition the moment you’ve completed it…but as long as we see it I’m sure they’ll be no complaints 😉
Started late today, so late I even managed to miss todays show from the 1w Caspian Gull in West Park by c30 mins 🥴 only saw 33 species with 7 Shoveler & 2 adult Peregrine the only noteworthy sightings
@BelvideBirding Happy New Year mate & thanks for finding us all another Staffs ✅ plus the much wanted Bearded Tits for Belvide 😊 Looking forward to what you’ll find us in 2025…
@Bucktonbirder Fantastic memories, Mark! I’d literally just arrived at the cuckoo spot when the Veery news broke, quick run to the heliport and the rest is twitching history. Had only just recovered enough the next morn when the Blue Rock Thrush broke, so we got a taxi…from Hugh Town! 🤣
@PhilLocker@philjo61 Feels like that should have been the prelude to a Finders in the Field story “While on my hands and knees searching the grass for my keys a parted a clump and there, staring back at me, was a mouse-like Locustella” 😉
Like many others I’m getting fed up with the Ads and general vibe on Twitter / X & have just done my first post on Bluesky featuring exclusive non-crippling photos of yesterdays Redstart 😉🤣

Finally found Redstart (113) for 10k year list today in paddocks off Ebstree Lane, Seisdon & it was a cracking male! Also Juv/1w Yellow-legged Gull with 135+ LBB & 25 Herring Gull, ad Hobby, Imm f Peregrine, 3 L Egret, Gt C & 4 Little Grebe in the area @BirderGaz@Staffsbirdnews
A 3hr search for migrants at Furnace Grange, Trescott on 19/8 produced just single ad Lesser & Juv Common Whitethroat, thus proving it’s generally very hard going birding unfashionable sites near Wolverhampton…& not always Paddyfield Warblers and Stone-curlews! @BirderGaz
@Stewchat It always seems to be the case that the majority of yank ducks get accepted no probs but those from the east have struggled more…but if you are a duck from the Med you’ve got no chance! 🤪
