Teacher effectiveness is not greatly improved by curriculum, new programs, or initiatives. But, when teachers are respected, valued, supported, & feel like their talents are utilized, then morale increases, job engagement soars, & students benefit too!
Inspired by @hosten_m to change my perspective on teaching math to LEDC. I after training this summer, I was still unsure how it would work at a Kindergarten level. This is proof it is working! #12daysin#iteachkinder#ledc#arizonateacher#explore https://t.co/MAOoHdWm5m
Heading into week 3 pumped to start using technology in our classroom. We don’t have 1-1 technology for our students. I hope to get some tech from my list. Excited for my students to finally get a chance to use #Seesaw and #Epic#iteachfirst#clearthelist https://t.co/zWtIqhUgM5
@kathyireland Thank you for all you are doing to support teachers. I am teaching in a new state, new district, and a new grade level at a Title 1 school. I am grateful for any and all help you can give me in getting items from my list that will help my students thrive. https://t.co/zWtIqhUgM5
Force of Nature is giving away the change to win cleaning & disinfecting kit for each classroom in your school, plus $xx worth of other prizes! https://t.co/jjUJAL9fLW
@kathyireland Thank you for supporting teachers across the nation! First year first grade teacher, in a new state, new district and new grade level. #clearthelist https://t.co/zWtIqhUgM5
@Simpleman131@heywadeking@deptulahasrage …In addition, not all students bring these supplies in at the beginning of the year. That means teachers need extra supplies to support them. I supply them with my OWN money, not the school. That doesn’t include books, markers, manipulatives, learning materials, etc.
@Simpleman131@heywadeking@deptulahasrage …and then there are classroom supplies. Families get a suggested supply list at the beginning of the year, (pencils, folder, comp. book, 1 Clorox wipes, 1 Kleenex, crayons, a glue stick), but these supplies are used within the first month. Who do you think buys them after???
@Simpleman131@heywadeking@deptulahasrage …Teachers do this work because of the impact they make on the lives of their students. All we are asking is to be shown the same level of pay and respect that others with the same quality of education in other professions are receiving.
@Simpleman131@heywadeking@deptulahasrage …While we have contracts and specifications for hours we must work, the load we are given cannot be completed in that time. I have a MA degree and 15+ yrs experience in education, and get paid half what my brother with the same level of education gets paid in his profession…
@Simpleman131@heywadeking@deptulahasrage …In addition, we are required to attend school events after contract (conferences, family nights, games, etc.) to show support for our students, families and school without extra pay on OUR time. Not all school have unions! That is a misconception…
