@HAGB0RNE He nods his head side-to-side.
“Not exactly a portal but that’s the closest thing I could say it resembles.
And you? Are you still searching for?”
What was it again?
@HAGB0RNE “I wouldn’t say I’m a hunter, seems like I’m trying to kill them.
More of a tracker and researcher primarily.”
Though the occasional hunt of more dangerous things did fall in his lap since he was the only employee available.
“What were you with your people?”
@HAGB0RNE He shakes his head a bit disappointed. But that does also make it a little more mysterious.
“Not right now, I tried to interview the people but they only remember returning.
Hoping to find more things out here that’ll give me some answers. I’m used to it now, it’s never easy.”
@HAGB0RNE “The trinkets are on me but the weapons are stored away.”
It doesn’t bother him, since she hasn’t attacked him he’s not concerned with anything else.
“Familiar?”
He hands her what looks like a medallion and it’s of a star being squeezed by a strange hand.
@HAGB0RNE It sounds familiar, there may be a file on them back at the office.
“Weapons, trinkets, a map, and three people who went missing five years ago on a camping trip.
The weapons and map are from an unknown origin…”
He stops himself from talking too much around the stranger.
@HAGB0RNE “Well I was tracking a portal that’s been popping up and spitting out things everywhere but I got tired.
You caught me in my monthly nap.”
He’s going to assume those teeth weren’t not really meant for candy and fruit.
“Why are you out here? Not your territory so you just —
@HAGB0RNE I do have….”
Grabs a burlap sack and opens it. The sack contains five strange fruits that he planned on studying from a recent trip.
“If you trust your metabolism you can try these? Not sure what they are but I witnessed giant man-eating bats have a few so I think they’re ok.”
@HAGB0RNE He looks down at her too and just shrugs.
“I’m not, I’ve seen some unique things in my life and you’re just another one.
Albeit a lot blue-er than most.”
The man goes around to the bed of his truck and fishes out a candy bar.
“Here I don’t have much but all yours.
Actually —
“Sleeping.”
He leaned up getting a better look at her.
“Am I in your territory or something? You didn’t lunge at my face so is assume you’re not I’ll intentioned.”
Stares in silence for a moment.
“Do you speak English?”
she blinks again, tensing a bit when the window begins to roll down —- ready to flee.
but the mortal speaks .. a simple greeting.
she raises a corpse - blue hand, long digits twitching in a wave. shy. cautious.
He jumps too and adjusts his glasses.
Shot? His weapon is usually stored away unless he’s out working.
The window rolls down slightly and he peeks out.
“Hi?”
she jumps back. stumbles even, large green eyes gone wider. damn. she thought the mortal inside was dead.
she would like a candy bar, but she does not want to get shot for it.
No canned ravioli unfortunately. There is a few candy bars and trail mix in one of his packs.
And the man is now awake looking at someone at his window.
The man…waves? Is this an illusion?
@AbnormalOps “I watch over a holding facility. Currently holds.”
He tries to think of how many that endless facility was currently keeping contained.
“It holds a lot.”
When she confirms clear he moves forward with rifle pointed ahead.
@AbnormalOps “It’s not our normal protocol when dealing with these things but right now if that’s the only option?
It’s fine with me.”
Still a little reluctant about the idea but he really has no choice.
