- You can follow hashtags or people
- Individual servers can be designated for a group. Eg, my main server is one for tech profrssionals, but I've seen ones for journalists, LGBTQ folks, etc. They aren't categorized like subreddits

Obviously this isn't equivalent to their car software but I don't think it's _completely_ off base. That said they definitely don't have the institutional knowledge, so it's an L either way

@evanextreme Jokes aside, I actually had a *TRACKPAD* not work OOTB on Linux the other week. Genuinely never had that happen before but it seems Lenovo did something fucky with ACPI. Things are getting better in the Linux space, but it's definitely beyond most folks day to day

@evanextreme I think it's going to be a while before federation is really grasped by the gen public. It's not a complicated concept in principle, but it's a step beyond email's federation. That said, I do think it's possible.

Also, I gotta um akshually "almost no working apps on Linux" :P
