Today, we celebrate Black history and culture, the progress and resilience of Black communities, and recommit ourselves to our shared goals of building the brighter future we want for our state.
Happy Juneteenth, Wisconsin!
Juneteenth as a federal holiday is meant to breathe new life into the essence of America β to ensure everyone feels the power of the progress we can make.
It marks the long, hard night of slavery β but the promise of that brighter morning to come.
Happy Juneteenth, America.
This Juneteenth, we remember that the promise of America is that we're all created equal.
And my promise to you is that I'll never walk away from that.
Let's move forward, together.
Making Juneteenth a federal holiday wasnβt just a symbolic gesture. It was a statement of fact for this country to acknowledge the original sin of slavery.
To honor the true meaning of Juneteenth, we are continuing the charge forward to redeem the soul of America.
