I cover my favorite pro football team, The New England Patriots, using data analytics to highlight performance and development.
Looks like Jaguars waived former Arkansas RB Ja'Quinden Jackson. Big back (6'2" 230s) that is still new to the position (entered college as a QB). Some work with his pad level and he could be a solid short-yardage and goalline RB with a QB background for the #Patriots.
Preliminary list of top 5 prospects at positions of need for the #Patriots in the 2026 NFL Draft.
-Koi Perich - S - Oregon
-Sammy Brown - LB- Clemson
-Will Heldt - DE/EDGE - Clemson
-Trey'Dez Green - TE - LSU
- Anthony Smith - DT - Minnesota
I saw some posts that Incarnate Word LB Declan Williams was invited #Patriots rookie minicamp. He will make the practice squad, and don't be surprised he gets elevated. Should have been drafted.
I've seen some postings about Demarcus Lacey WR/RB from Marshall getting invited to the #Patriots 2026 rookie mini-camp. I had him on my WR sleeper list. Great space player that could develop into a gadget/ST player to develop on the practice squad. Maybe KR/PR specialist?
My Current list of Wide Receiver WR sleepers in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Treyvhon Saunders - Colgate
Hank Beatty - Illinois
Kyre Duplessis - Delaware
Daniel Sobkowicz - Illinois St
Cortez Braham - Memphis
Michael Shulikov - Idaho State
JT Clark - UTSA
Damarcus Lacey - Marshall
The New England #Patriots have 5 Day 3 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft. I think they need to walk away with a RB, LB, S, and a NT. However, the biggest need is a legit kick return specialist. That might be a RB or WR or DB. Might need to burn some 2027 day 3 capital to get the guy.
I'd argue that the #Patriots front office are having a better draft in 2026 vs. 2025 when you consider their draft position, and how weak the draft class is. Seems like they are making the right moves to grab one of their guys before the position dries up. Bravo!
