I’m still in touch with my remaining mentor. He is in his 90s.

These mentors listened to me, guided me, encouraged me to push harder and strive for all that I was capable of achieving.

I have such warm memories of these three wonderful men who helped me find my way and find myself so many years ago. They danced at my wedding, sent lovely presents when my babies were born, remained trusted friends for 50 years. I wept at the recent passing of two of them.

They each saw me as as having great potential, but struggling with family issues that would keep me from achieving it. Smart men who understood things that were confusing to me and that I couldn’t discuss with my parents.

On Mentors

As a young woman, I was blessed to have mentors. Three of them, each much older men. One was my teacher in middle school, one was the Principal of my high school, and the third was my college interviewer.
