Check on the stats this morning & amazed to see so much support for this campaign. 60k+ signatures! But it’s just the start, we need to see 1 million signatures behind this for the Gov to finally take us seriously. Every signature helps…please sign!

We are open as usual folks but our car park access is blocked…please come via foot, bike or helicopter!! Thanks @stwater for complete lack of notice and huge overkill by shutting the road. PS cars are mounting the kerb to go round the fence so that’s awesome too!!
Visited this pretty lovely pub in St Agnes! ❤️🌊 @LaraInCornwall@ThePeterville Thank you so much for your amazing hospitality and the most beautiful food & cocktails!
Unfortunately 1st April is no joking matter for small businesses who are being #taxedout by a parliament of all year round fools. Most will now be contemplating how they survive to next year. We need thriving business for a strong economy, not ones scraping a living.
6 yrs ago hospitality closed their doors, many never reopened, lots still carry debt from ‘bounce back’ loans. I’d argue that the energy crisis that followed was worse than Covid as no support was given. You can understand why businesses are now hugely concerned about energy.
The new look for pubs up and down the country. Will this pub ever open again? Or will it be used for housing? Maybe a vape shop? How many publicans are hanging on for Christmas and will then hand back the keys? Who in their right mind would get in to the lib trade now?
BII Ambassador Emma Gibbon, The Plough, spoke about the harsh realities pubs are facing on BBC Radio Gloucestershire yesterday morning, calling for a change to National Insurance contributions for employers.
It is more important than ever that we call on Government to provide more support for our pubs.

Amazing to see the almost immediate impact of our meeting with Minister Thomas yesterday, so much so that he spoke about it in Parliament this evening. It’s not too late to engage your MPs and share your trading realities ahead of the Autumn budget. #mypub#taxedout 🙌
This is the impact our members are having on MPs, Ministers and those at the heart of parliament.
Following the meeting with @gareththomasMP yesterday, he shared the passion they exuded when they spoke about the reality for pubs.
Real experience, real community spirit, supporting local economies, employing and nurturing local talent.
Please don't underestimate the power of contacting your local MP to ask for their support.

We are calling on ALL members📢
Take some time to share your voice and ensure Government understand both the impact of the Autumn Budget in 2024, and the ramifications for your businesses and the wider economy if they do not offer support this autumn.

We would really love to win this one. We love to cater for every member of the family at The Plough from grandparents to babies and even the doggos! Amazing just to be in the final 6! @morningad#GBPA25
It’s now a good few years since I first started saying that a VAT cut has to be the priority ask of the Gov with so many people saying it just won’t happen…Germany have just done it, Ireland recently did it. It’s possible and it’s the single thing that can help all hospitality.
