I am writing on behalf of many Florida Progressives to express our deep concern regarding @senpizzo's recent claims that the progressive movement is responsible for the Democratic Party's losses in Florida. This narrative is not only misleading but also undermines the hard work and dedication of countless activists who have tirelessly volunteered to support his campaigns.

As a movement, we have put in innumerable hours of grassroots organizing, with boots on the ground, to get @senpizzo elected multiple times. We have canvassed neighborhoods, phone-banked, and rallied support not just for him, but for a vision that prioritizes the needs of working-class Floridians. To now hear him shift blame onto the very people who have invested so much into his political journey is a betrayal that will not be forgotten.

Florida voters faced a ballot with two variations of Republican candidates: extreme and light. The failures we witnessed were not due to the progressive agenda but stemmed from a lack of bold, transformative policies that resonate with the electorate. Blaming progressive activism only serves to distract from the real work that needs to be done—work that includes championing affordable healthcare, good-paying jobs, and equitable education.

@senpizzo's comments reflect a misunderstanding of our movement's purpose and a shortsighted view of how to rebuild support in our state. The people of Florida deserve a party that represents their interests with conviction, not one that shies away from the very policies that inspire and mobilize voters.

We urge @senpizzo and others in leadership to recognize the value of progressive ideals in fostering an inclusive, effective Democratic Party. If we are to turn Florida around, we must unite around a bold vision that prioritizes people over politics. Our movement remains steadfast in advocating for these principles, and we hope for a reconsideration of attitudes that dismiss our contributions.

Together, we will continue to fight for a more just and equitable future for all Floridians. We look forward to productive discussions about how we can move forward and ensure that our voices are heard within the party.
