EU's MiCA Deadline Could Wipe Out Thousands Of Crypto Firms

The EU's MiCA transition period ends on July 1, leaving unlicensed crypto firms facing potential exclusion from the market, per CryptoSlate.

Only 194 firms had secured MiCA licenses as of May 2026.

Around 75% of existing crypto companies in Europe may soon lose eligibility to serve EU users. Unlicensed firms may need to stop accepting deposits and guide customers toward licensed platforms.
