One of the coolest things I saw is this video package by the @NCAACWS crew.

Makes you really appreciate how elite these guys are to be on this grand of a stage.
If you’re lucky to go on an overnight visit remember:
⚫️ ask players what they like/dislike about the school
🔴 ask players what they think of the coaching staff
⚪️ you’re a guest
⚫️ you’re not 21...
🔴 ask yourself “are these the type of guys I want to be around for 4 years?
HS/Travel coaches and recruiting services talking trash about clllege coaches on Twitter could get their players crossed off a list to no fault of the player.
Same guys preach to their players how to do the right thing to not get crossed off a list.

WHAT IS YOUR BEST ADVICE FOR FRESHMAN COLLEGE ATHLETES?
Athletic, social, academic, whatever your best piece of advice is. Let’s hear it....?
@TheRecruitingCo Go to class. It’s impossible to miss classes and be successful with grades.
Leave your high school baseball stories at home. Everyone there was a big fish in high school.
‘21 RHP Ricky Erbeck (The Hun School) 86-89 with some late life on FB. CB has 11/5 break at 72. Punched out 4 in his extended inning of work. @ShooterHunt@Djacksbaseball
People claiming the reason the NCAA Transfer Portal is so populated is due to PLAYERS AND FAMILIES choosing the wrong school clearly have little experience with college athletics overall.
If you take a job and 2 years later realize it’s not right, is that entirely your fault?
Players, their families and the coaches have to make major decisions with limited information, limited interaction and limited time.
Cannot expect both parties to get it right.
School must be right without baseball, BUT what if baseball is THAT important to you? You transfer.
@ohanianb Can’t put it entirely on the kid/family. Are some decisions rushed? Sure, but:
- coaches leave
- players transfer in
- you can’t truly understand what the school is like until you’re there
- sometimes you get beat out. Is that wrong?
So many variables.
As our 2019 class heads off to begin their freshman year, remember
⚪️ You we’re recruited because you are good enough to be there. Be confident.
🔴 It’s exponentially easier to start off hot academically than to climb the mountain.
⚫️ Jobs are constantly being won or lost.
I’m very excited to announce my commitment to further my academic and baseball career at the University of Illinois-Chicago! I want to thank my family, friends, and coaches who have supported me through my journey. #flames
@StrunkKas More camp invites we saw this summer cited place seen and when. Didn’t make them more genuine.
Sometimes that could mean genuine, but when it’s genuine there’s usually another point of contact from that coach. Wether direct or indirect (hs Coach, summer Coach etc).
With summer ending, the top 3 themes we saw are:
1. Team events are more “hit-or-miss” than ever before.
2. Camp emails are inundating and nearly impossible for families to navigate given the leading language.
3. Skills, Grades, Personality are still the important variables.
@WVLionsBBA Affordability is definitely a factor. But being able to afford it can still result in flushing money away if it’s a school they’re not capable of ever playing at. Or you can just view it as an experience and not a recruiting event.
