Just make sure they really need doing that evening; you'll find being OOH doc is a very busy job.

If you encounter a routine problem, exception report.

Training opportunities happen OOH too, but right now Survival 101 should be the priority. 2/2

@grandisonfolios Good Q. It depends why you're being asked to stay.

If a patient is deteriorating, stay, initiate management and make sure they are safely handed over to the on call team.

Routinely staying late for ward jobs, or jobs suitable for the OOH team is not okay. 1/2

My advice Akash, would be:

1. Book leave in advance (You know its coming!)
2. Boundaries between work / home life are NORMAL
3. Support your colleagues, and they will support you back
