Oklahoma House Bill 4227 (#TreysLaw and #CindyClemishireAct) needs our support!

The bill was UNANIMOUSLY passed by the Oklahoma House of Representatives and recently, the Senate Judiciary Committee. We need to move #HB4227 to the Senate Floor for a vote, and time is running out.

Without immediate action, this legislation will hit a dead end and will not be considered again until 2027.

April is National #ChildAbusePreventionMonth. Although today marks the last day of the month, this critical work continues. With recent research out of University of New Hampshire citing 1 in 8 children in the U.S. will be sexually assaulted before their 18th birthday, we need to act NOW, with urgency, to protect victims’ voices.

As Kathryn Robb of the National Children’s Justice Campaign stated at a D.C. press conference, “Child sexual abuse is ‘a public health crisis’ for which a critical remedy is the passage of Trey’s Law.” We appreciate advocates like Kathryn who fight alongside survivors to enact common-sense child safety reforms.

Let's Geaux, Louisiana!! #TreysLaw passed the Louisiana Senate…UNANIMOUSLY! Senate Bill 185 will now move to a House committee and Floor vote before it reaches the Governor’s desk.

Authored by Sen. Thomas Pressly (@presslyforla), SB 185 would render nondisclosure agreements (NDAs) void and unenforceable in civil settlements pertaining to child sexual abuse. Trey’s Law protects victims’ voices by ensuring survivors maintain their freedom of speech after they’ve already endured the unimaginable.
