The IOC has income of at least $7.7 billion in a 4-year cycle. It can afford to pay athletes. They are the show. It could also pay volunteers. Estimates suggest IOC saves up to $100 million in Summer Olympics using unpaid labor. Moral issue.
Kirsty Coventry telling Olympians they shouldn’t be paid while the IOC generates billions is exactly why athletes are losing faith in Olympic leadership.
Easy to preach sacrifice after benefiting from the system yourself through sponsorships, influence, political power, and international status.
Even harder to take seriously when you’ve aligned yourself with one of the most corrupt governments in the world while athletes sacrifice their bodies, careers, finances, and futures for the Olympic movement.
The athletes ARE the Olympics. Not the executives. Not the politicians. Not the bureaucrats.

Because parents famously never murder their children. 🙃
The misunderstanding of Amber Alerts is one of my biggest pet peeves as a family lawyer.
These are issued under strict criteria and only when a child is in imminent danger. Which, yes, often is caused by a parent.
Honoured to be nominated for this award from the Lotus Hope Foundation! So grateful to continue doing this work with such a fabulous @athletes_empwrd team. 💜💙

As the Future of Sport in Canada Commission report sits on a shelf this will continue to happen.
It’s time to give equal powers to athletes through collective bargaining. Correct the power imbalance now!

I’ve never felt so seen by someone else describing themselves.
Fellow loud-mouthed, authority-questioning, canary -in-the-coal-mine, CA survivors, unite! 💪

Thinking of all the victim-survivors who have to fight to have their abuse/maltreatment acknowledged, often without any justice or accountability.
But seemingly petty drama stemming from an alleged affair results in a suspension. 🙃
This energy for all complaints please.
The survivor in the alleged sexual assault case for which Canadian Olympian Nikolaj Sorensen was originally banned has come forward to me to publicly share her name. She is Ashley Foy, a former US ice dancer who now is a coach in the Netherlands. This is what she had to say:
@StevieMacSports 🎯 why are we funneling more money into "participation in sports" before fixing the abuse crisis? Why are we giving more taxpayers dollars to the same organizations and same people who contributed to this abuse crisis🤦♀️
Join us to discuss more from The Commission Report on 🗓️ Thursday May 14 at 7:30pm EST via Zoom where will explore the key recommendations and discuss opportunities ahead for meaningful change.

🚨 Canada-wide warrant 🚨
Let’s not forget Dane Nisbet, the 20-year-old junior hockey player from Sarnia who was senselessly murdered on April 10, 2026, at Lambton College’s Lions Den bar.
A Canada-wide warrant has been issued for:
• Kyaw “Chin” Doe (24, of London, Ontario)
• At the time of the shooting, Doe was under a court order PROHIBITING him from possessing FIREARMS. 🤔
Justice for Dane.
Please repost until we find this murderer.
