Get the youngsters reading early - like Mark did with Zach, The Retrospect’s number one fan who buys the paper every week and reads it cover to cover. #collingswoodbookfestival
If you're sad about newspapers shutting down, laying off reporters, or eliminating print productions, then support them with a subscription (or donation if they're nonprofit). It costs a lot to do good reporting!

New Jersey's Open Public Records Act (OPRA) is a vital tool for sustainability via transparency. Excellent op-ed from the @TheRetrospect on the shameful bill that passed in both chambers of the State Legislature earlier this week. @GovMurphy better #VETO
First big league homer for our guy Joey Loperfido!
Through his first 11 games in the show, Lope is hitting .324 with a homer, a double and 5 RBIs.
There is no person more deserving.
Congratulations Lope!

Scathing editorial from publisher Brett Ainsworth about New Jersey legislators trying to destroy the public's right to know. Now Governor Phil Murphy has a choice, veto or sign.

#OPRA
Here they go with “we are swamped with commercial requests.”
This bill does NOTHING to stop that! It actually gives commercial requestors PRIORITY over residents and reporters!
My concerns about this #OPRA bill remain.
While the amendments address some issues, the version before the Senate Budget Committee today will still result in less transparency, and make it harder for residents to hold government accountable.
🚨🚨 Confirmed. They gut OPRA on Thurs @ 10am. Come testify & bring friends, neighbors, family. If you can't make it, submit a slip in opposition:

Reporters need to share those stories. I know reporters generally don’t advocate, but gutting OPRA = gutting the press = gutting democracy
Public records are NOT easy to access. It requires a fight. The cost of OPRA is a minimal cost for transparency
