Yesterday a bill I introduced to protect students in school zones from dangerous and erratic drivers was held up in the Streets committee. https://t.co/ZV6eEx8v30
As a candidate for mayor, Cherelle Parker didn’t have much to say about cycling safety. One year into her role, that has changed. But only after a string of tragedies and a flurry of activism: https://t.co/CHSPWu3sVf
Despite the proximity to a school and day care, the time for pedestrians to cross the street is not long enough for even the most able bodied adult. We need #JayAlert and we need traffic calming around all schools! (2/2) @RepCephas@SenHughesOffice@PennDOTNews
We are honored to be able to provide this much needed memorial for Jayanna. As we posted this sign, many school children crossed the very intersection where Jayanna was hit. (1/2)
Thank you @bcgp ! For the beautiful plaque, it was a great day today to see Jayanna get her well deserved recognition. #Stop#hit and #runs ! PA #Philly 63 Lansdowne west Philla . Help us save lives slow down when driving .
Today, I was proud to sign Bill No. 241030 into law, which authorizes the installation of Automated Speed Enforcement cameras on PA Route 13 throughout Philadelphia.
I want to thank @DriscollForPHL, who sponsored the legislation, and all members of @PHLCouncil, which unanimously passed this bill in December.
We thank @PhilaParking which is a key partner in installing the cameras and the @bcgp for their advocacy on this initiative. I also want to thank former State Representative John Taylor, who championed speed cameras in Harrisburg with me when I served there, as well as @RepNeilson who has taken up the banner.
This technology works, and the traffic station data proves it. We want to see it everywhere that speeding is causing deadly crashes. We want to save lives and do everything possible to create a Safer, Cleaner and Greener Philadelphia, with Access to Economic Opportunity for All.
Tomorrow evening, join me and the @bcgp for a discussion about SEPTA, bike lanes and transit funding. Come out to learn how legislative work being done in Harrisburg can impact transportation in our city. Hope to see you there!

Over the past 15 years, transportation emissions in Philadelphia have only increased. If you drive, you can help turn that trend around by switching to an electrified ride: https://t.co/RarnktV26L

We're officially one week into session at the PA legislature. @SpotlightPA rightly lays out the top priority in this year's budget: public transportation @TransitPa https://t.co/mmIkiaxVQK
I'm excited to announce that Philly will be receiving $2 million to continue transforming the Reading Viaduct into a beautiful park and trail system!
This grant that I strongly supported will help connect our neighborhoods and turn this abandoned railway into new green spaces.

We are heartbroken to report that a person riding a bicycle was killed crossing Broad St this morning. Michael Buie was traveling east on Erie across Broad St. around 2am when he was hit by a driver traveling southbound on Broad St
https://t.co/gkGK5lBrUu
There's not a lot out about the crash other than that Michael crossed Broad against the red light. It’s easy to read this info & blame the victim, however, the goal of VisionZero is not to prevent all human error but to eliminate the possibility that those errors result in death
