My testimony:

Before Jesus, I struggled deeply with my identity. I didn’t know who I was and
carried a lot of insecurity. I lived anxious and stressed, often spiraling. My worth
depended on what others thought of me, so I became a people pleaser—a
chameleon who blended in instead of standing for what I believed.
I hated being alone because it exposed a void in my life. To fill that emptiness, I
turned to unhealthy outlets that only left me feeling more empty. I thought I was a
Christian because I believed Jesus existed, but in reality, I had created my own
version of God that justified whatever I wanted to do. I kept one foot with God and
one foot in the world.
In 2019, I prayed and asked God for a wife because I was tired of chasing
relationships to fill that void. That January, I met the woman who would change my
life. She encouraged me to go to church, and although I was hesitant at first, we
began attending Watermark in Fort Worth. For the first time, I truly heard the
gospel and realized I had never fully given my life to Christ.
I started reading the Bible from cover to cover, and God slowly peeled back the
layers of my heart. I saw my mistakes clearly and understood how often I had
resisted Him. I surrendered my life to Christ that year. It wasn’t an instant
emotional change, but a steady transformation.
Since then, everything has changed. In 2021, we moved from Fort Worth to
Denver and found Brave Church, where we’ve been surrounded by an amazing
community that has helped shepherd me in my faith. God has blessed us with a
beautiful son and has provided for us again and again, even when things felt
impossible.
I’ve been sober for several years, and the emptiness I once felt is gone. My identity
is now rooted in Christ. The Bible guides me on how to be a godly husband and
father. I’m truly happier and more grateful than I’ve ever been.
I was baptized as a child, but today I choose baptism as an act of obedience and a public declaration that my life belongs to Jesus.
