True brotherhood in action
What began as an innocent game of basketball with friends turned into the fight of a lifetime for junior Wyatt Anderson. After suffering a severe cervical spinal cord injury in November 2025 that left him paralyzed from the neck down, Wyatt faced months of rehabilitation and recovery.
Guided by President Colistra's "call and repeat" motto: “Whatever hurts my brother hurts me; whatever helps my brother helps me,” Wyatt’s classmates stepped up in a powerful way, organizing a schedule to ensure he was never alone between physical therapy sessions at the hospital.
Through faith, determination, and the unwavering support of his St. X brothers, family, medical team, and community, Wyatt continued to push forward. This spring, fewer than five months after his injury, he crossed the finish line of the Kentucky Derby Festival's MiniMarathon in under two hours, an incredible milestone in a remarkable recovery journey.
