Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia has indirect rate of 70%, but they probably didn’t want to list that atop Harvard because defunding a children’s hospital might be perceived as problematic.
This is devastating
@Ed_of_O@MattZeitlin Do everyone but Len Davis and dare Trump to execute a killer cop by leaving him literally no other options for people on federal death row to execute. Good craic as they say on Say Nothing.
@dieworkwear Or your spouse can make a wee hat for it so your bourgeois candle (…does this make it a bougie bougie? …I’ll see myself out) doesn’t look declasse while you prevent tunneling.
@jeremy_carlston@ASFleischman It also depends on your jurisdiction—for lower amounts (anything under like 50k, I think), I wasn’t aware of any bondsman in Brooklyn (c. early 2010s) who would post bail for 10%—it was closer to a third, and again that’s money you never see again.
NEW: Twenty-one former federal judges, including multiple former appeals court judges, urge President Biden to clear the federal death row. They include David Tatel (D.C. Cir.) and Diane Wood (7th Cir.), both of whom left the bench earlier this year. https://t.co/sMIIscENud
“No, no, I was just beating my *girlfriend*” doesn’t strike me as great grounds for a bail motion (like, “sorry, you want me to file WHAT?” level of not-great) but this is why I am not a well-remunerated criminal defense attorney to the stars
We are devastated to hear that the Governor of Missouri has denied clemency to Marcellus Williams. Take action and advocate for Mr. Williams with @innocence now ⬇️

1/4 If a prosecutor admits a conviction is wrongful & the defendant may be innocent, you would think that the defendant's life would be spared. But you would be wrong. Increasingly, judges are rejecting these confessions of error and ordering executions to go forward.
I despise the philistine right.
IT’S NOT ACCIDENTAL. THE NEW YORKER FEATURES VERY INTENTIONAL PORTRAITS OF TENSIONS AND CONTRADICTIONS IN THE LIVES OF THE PEOPLE LITERALLY READING THE MAGAZINE. IF THIS IS TOO COMPLICATED FOR YOU MAY I SUGGEST “GARFIELD” OR “DENNIS THE MENACE”.
