I include special education in this as I have often heard the term “choosing” when describing behaviourwhich as always unsettled me. I believe all behaviour is a message and it’s up to adults to decode that message. Improvements must always be made.
Would like to add all schools are different and so many teachers I have worked with do a great job through differentiation, support and strategies. I will admit that this isn’t in all cases and more training and understanding across the board is needed 1/2
This time of year kiddos find difficult. Advice: speak to parents plan joint strategies+social stories be flexible with attendance&lessons. We do it all year round but staff are tired, the kiddos can see the finish line, so important to end the year positively. #school#SEN
But after a very tough week, final assignment hand ins having to sit still through the training which for any of us who are used to being on the move is very difficult, I got to see this face which makes everything worth while. Will be back soon with season 2 but for now... relax

@Autism@CBFdn I Hope restraint is highlighted more , as I feel it maybe used too quickly.... I hope these last few tweets are not derogatory in any way to my previous employers but simply how restraint policies need to be looked at school by school and staff education on this.
@Autism@CBFdn I feel more training, awareness and cultures of schools need to be assessed more closely not as a way of spying on schools and professions but sharing experiences, knowledge and the impact holding has, restraint is not a strategy. 3
