Atefeh Rajabi Sahaaleh, was a 16 year old girl from Neka in Iran's Mazandaran Province. A lovely happy girl enjoying her life.

In defiance of her death sentence, she tore off her hijab and threw it at his feet.
On August 15, 2004, she was publicly hanged from a crane in Neka's town square. (The judge himself later admitted to raping and torturing her during interrogations.)

The 2006 Mumbai bombings didn’t kill 10 or 20 people, they killed 187!. That number alone should shake a nation’s conscience.

Yet 19 years later, the great Indian state hasn’t managed to punish even a single person. It’s a damning indictment of our law enforcement and justice system, not that they’ll feel any shame.

In govt jobs, especially the bureaucracy, police, and judiciary, there’s almost zero accountability. Even politicians, for all their faults, must come back every five years and fold hands before the public. But the rest sit on thrones untouchable. The police will either build a weak case, or the judge will sit with a ‘large heart,’ and in the end, no one will be punished. Who answers for this colossal failure?

Bankers, Doctors, engineers, and CAs can be dragged to court for mistakes; there’s at least some fear of consequences. But those meant to protect justice itself remain immune. Somewhere, whoever masterminded and killed those 187 must be laughing at this broken system.
