Well I can return the favour - just stumbled on Al’s website: https://t.co/lvbzPBL9QV A wealth of deep dives into historical marginalia. Rigorous and absolutely addictive!
Graduated in Sheffield with Irfan in the 90s. Restored contact with him in the early noughties after my move to Scotland when he was able to contribute some wonderful pieces to an ezine I ran. He's doing some great work now on the early days of film. https://t.co/M0mOQE6yr8

It's a masterpiece. Sadly the YouTube quality is v poor. Kevin Brownlow has done more for film in this country than anyone- it would be an amazing tribute to him to clear the rights and broadcast /release it in a proper print once again .
For anyone looking for a lost classic of Yorkshire literature, we recommend the wonderful Shameless Wayne by Halliwell Sutcliffe. https://t.co/yiFoV7k5JZ
You can find more about our exhibition on the lost 1920 film adaptation of #WutheringHeights (and get updates on it, too) at the @LeedsLit Facebook Page at: https://t.co/4wl06sojbY We hope this is the beginning of a wonderful adventure!
There is some great film-detective work being done as part of this project. I recommend #WutheringHeights Rediscovered to all devotees of early-film and of Emily Bronte's novel.

@WHRediscovered@LeedsLit I’ve been involved with this fascinating project and I know for a fact that there are some revelations on their way! Definitely something for those who love British film history, the #Brontes and #Yorkshire
@Film_Foundation Starting in June, we'll be touring our exhibition on the lost 1920 adaptation of Wuthering Heights. A single surviving screenplay; a scrapbook of images; an adventure. Please watch this space! (image courtesy of @BronteParsonage )
