Cartoon/comic creator, artist, writer. Worked with Topps, Sesame Workshop, and CBS Sports. Featured on GMFB. Currently working on a book, oh, and I draw Eagles.
I wouldn't rule it out long-term, but it's fully known @garyvee is a super fan of self-custody versus walled gardens. So, once @veve_official /@CollectChain have implemented it's self-custody option it's highly plausible. Until then... eh. lol
That said, his IP I could absolutely see on @Digitoys too, and I wouldn't be surprised that it would be on multiple platforms in the long term future in varying ways. Cards, digital figures, comics, even phygital. But I digress, because I can't speak for the man. He's doing his thing, and it's dope to see.
The difference of 12 years. Growth happens not in spurts, but in commitment to the craft. You wont see a change in a week, but if you put those weeks together, stay committed, and put in your years....that effort will give back to you.
Hence my quote I always like to say...
"You can't have microwave results for something that takes oven baked execution."
And that said, to this day, I still have my battles when I draw. Some days suck, some days I have to walk away and come back. Sometimes I see some work I did, and have to let it go and just say.. "I'll get it on the next one." and move on.
But.. it is good to see progress that helps keep the little flame going while still knowing... I still want to get better.
Random thoughts.....
You know...I'm kind of enjoying the idea that not many people are onto what's being built here. It's like building something in the shadows. Quiet... slow execution. I'm okay with that. This takes time invested. And I understand that's hard for some. Especially in a world where people desire microwave results to something that takes oven baked execution to me.
Yet, to finally commit to this thing after the years of shelving it, building for others and working full time. Gratefully and thankfully too. For if not for them commissioning me, I wouldn't grow my skillset, learn new things along the way. Nor would I be where I am right now. Everyone has had their hand in my growth. Going way way back to when I was just a starter kid doing album covers.
That said, saying no has been the hardest things to say. Especially to wonderful friends I've developed over the years who I know have fantastic ideas that can win as well.
But now... we're here. This is it. Indego is the baby that I will pour my time and soul into. And whether it bombs or it rises like a phoenix from the ashes of the shelves it laid in, I know that at least I gave it everything I had to my dying end.
Where we are going is unknown and entirely up to you. The fan, the reader...
All I know is, space is calling. And I'm here to build it the only way I know how. Through myself and the guy feeding me the rock @pdotesco
(If you read all of that... I appreciate you.)
🚨 New Indego illustration for future print and future art of book. (From line art to color.)
With this one I really wanted to give this lived in vibe, and what better way then to have one of the characters be some sort of vandal as a running joke and then other characters responding to it. I mean, give people a marker and they can't help themselves but suddenly act like they're in a bathroom stall.
Now, the typical stall art I wanted to draw surely would've gotten flagged. lol But hey, we're here.
Indego shenanigans.
Let's keep going. ✍🏼

Working out the color scheme. Yet, I’m thinking maybe their color is predicated on what biome they are located in.

Working through the designs of what we call a Telaxian mugworm.
“At birth known to be the cutest little thing. The size of a house cat, but when fully grown they reach the size of your largest of boring machines. Known to infest and wreak havoc on planetary biomes, these things are considered to be the pests of interstellar space.”

Its interesting with the amount of hats an artist often will alternate into while building out a fictitious world. Putting on a engineer's hat and trying to make sense of certain structures, how things are going to be built, work, or function can be a bit daunting. Especially when you're trying to build it out and have it make some relative sense to the real world while still keeping it fictitious. Yet in the end, I feel, it's often rewarding once you've nailed down how you visualized it and got it there.

So @EmmanuelAcho , you mean to tell me you see him for a brief second in a separate room on his phone by himself, and the first thing that comes to mind is that Jalen is "dolo" and doesn't chat with anyone? Did you take a moment and think, well maybe he was taking a private call/chat/text and needs some alone time for a moment?
Why not go say hi? Try and chat with him for a brief second and find out how things are going for him at the event? I mean maybe that would be a thing to do there instead of being immediately judgmental in the moment and move on?
Regardless, at the end of the day, I'd rather Jalen be his authentic self than put up a bravado or fake personality to appease or be like everyone else. There are plenty of people who just don't speak until spoken to or until the moment calls for it, who happen to be more introverted than others, more guarded individuals. I know, because I'm one of them. But, you can't always corelate how a person behaves in the public/personal space to on the field job requirements, especially if you haven't taken the time to get to know them. By all accounts, he's just being himself. And because this is different from what you're accustom to, you've decided there has to be something to it. @speakeasytlkshw@CutonDime25
“Saw Jalen [Hurts] at the Super Bowl. Sitting in the corner by himself with sunglasses on, on his phone — Read nothing into that or read everything into that. Like you at a party with your peers, why you dolo? — We’ve heard nothing but rumors about Jalen Hurts not being that cool with the people inside the Eagles locker room. I seen everybody at the Super Bowl — Do you not have camaraderie with other people in the league?”
— Emmanuel Acho on Jalen Hurts
