@hdidndjksba@GCPMCCompliance@callmeyeraop@InsaneReality Except that's not how synergistic effects work and basing policy on useless, unrealistic studies is worse than just not having a policy at all. If your goal is to make people either freak out over everything or stop caring, this is a great way to go about that.
@hdidndjksba@callmeyeraop@InsaneReality Putting this label on fucking everything leads to either paranoia or people not giving a shit. "If everything I eat might cause cancer, then why bother caring?" Labels that serve no purpose except to confuse and scare people over nothing probably shouldn't be on products.
@abyss_437@p3quod@InsaneReality Because no matter what you do a potato fried in oil will make trace amounts of acrylamide as it browns. Doesn't matter what oil, or what potato. Any starchy food cooked at high heat produces it.
@abyss_437@p3quod@InsaneReality Yes, American products have a lot of extra garbage in them. Not really the point of our conversation though, as the prop. 65 warning on that bag of chips is specifically referring to acrylamide, which btw both the US and UK versions of those McDonald's French fries have.
@TheTransponst3r@InsaneReality 3. Maybe realize California prop. 65 rules are utter nonsense that actually just serve to confuse consumers by labeling literally anything that might cause cancer if you have shitloads of it to be a problem even if you have miniscule amounts of it.
@hdidndjksba@callmeyeraop@InsaneReality Dose makes the poison. If you ate spoonfuls of acrylamide daily then yes you'd probably get cancer. The amount in potato chips is so negligible it's laughable. Everything is toxic if you have too much of it, even fucking water.
@DillonMxpvr@Bruwulf@InsaneReality Learning to read is important. Someone telling you that California passed a stupid overbearing law that declares nearly fucking everything a carcinogen, even at incredibly trace amounts, isn't being a bootlicker.
@abyss_437@p3quod@InsaneReality Pretty sure fried potato chips (or crisps if you're a Brit) exist in Europe, and unless they invented some form of alchemy that allows for acrylamide to not be a natural byproduct of frying food, European chips sold here would also be subject to the same retarded warning in Cali.
@MentisWave@TomboyBindpkmi Destiny has moments where he shows he's probably the least retarded member of the popular online left. Unfortunately that's like being number 1 in a triathlon competing against quadriplegics.
@Hugo71890282@PsychoMechanics@Tomasuenim I like some people. Hell I like individuals from all groups. There's definitely certain groups as an aggregate though that are... Unpleasant.
