The last known pic of the Rhino of Sunderbans. They went completely extinct by 19th cent. due to unregulated hunting by the British.
This last Rhino was sold to @uk_zoo for £5K & lived there till it died in 1885.
With its death we lost Sundarbans Rhinos forever. 🦏
The present study fills a gap by advancing the understanding of the dynamics of Sundarbans #mangroves, classified as ‘endangered’ under the Red List of Ecosystems, under climate extremes and changing soil nutrient composition.
