@eurofounder This is a lie. No one in the US would ever tip on a purchase like this. Service industry, yes, ticket purchase, not even a little bit of a chance
@Betsycashmoney@kfree23 Based on what data? Please share. Unless it’s the Old studies based on deals where municipalities actually foot the bill for the stadium itself? I think you’re short on facts. This is meant to be a daily revenue generator. So just saying we have “hard economic data” means zero
@Betsycashmoney@kfree23 Yes, while generating all sorts of new tax. This isnt hard. Housing, entertainment tax, liquor taxes, hotel taxes, sales to name the obvious. The area would have made out just fine. Not to mention, anything they paid in property taxes would far surpass what was being paid
@Betsycashmoney@kfree23 Well, they offered to pay for the stadium. The baffoons in Springfield said no, pay to build the stadium, give it to us and then they don’t pay taxes. So what are you talking about? They would have paid for the stadium, built 100s of housing units and other tax drivers.
@Science_FTW_@Always_A_PAB@Jay_3shifty See disingenuous comment above. You’re completely dodging the point with some bs about arguing when all sorts of stars argue and do similar.
@Jay_3shifty@RogerDorn5 How do u figure that’s not how basketball works? They don’t want her to control the game, so they literally shadow her w/wo the ball. If others had that same impact on the game, they would have similar treatment. Disingenuous or lots of folks who just want to hate the girl.
@danholyo@Jake_B30 Didn’t the car dealership create new tax increment that never existed prior to them opening and building their dealership? The new taxes that wouldn’t be there without them putting financial investment into the community? Your example shows ignorance, not intelligence.
@BCB_Sara They were paying for the stadium. They asked for property tax certainty (normal) and infrastructure (normal)- bears maybe overplayed their hand, but this is politicians at their finest
@dabearsblog Those economists are looking at the past deals. Not the ones contemplated today where the Bears or whoever are footing the bill for the stadium
@SonRanto The more you speak, the more your ignorance of how this really works shines through. Just do everyone a favor and stop putting this bs out here. People who don’t know any better will become dumber listening to you
@SonRanto@cubsfan This happens with big businesses all of the time. Also, the taxes they generate (that don’t currently exist) would pay for these improvements.
