Been struggling a lot lately with outdated documentation online for various things. It should not be too hard to make sure that docs and forums posts are tagged with the version so that future generations don’t have to wade through so much noise.

@greentexan2063 @SawyerMerritt OTOH, there are some QoL improvements that could be introduced via SW. eg, a manual adjustment for sensitivity rather than just wiper speed. Some people like the rain to build up a bit before being wiped. Some don't. That's a preference that one setting will never be right 4 all.

@greentexan2063 @SawyerMerritt I think there are some fundamental issues with the appoach that can't be fixed with SW. For example, the camera is too high to deal with splash from other cars when on wet roads. This spash is often dense at eye level, but sparce at camera level.

Ok, is it just me? It's like someone flicked a switch and now twitter is just right wing, divisive, racist drivel. Horrible stuff coming on my feed. It used to be nice techy stuff. Now it's just red vs blue ugliness. What gives? I don't want this stuff.

@tsoding @Jonathan_Blow I think this is too strong a conclusion. Different users have different requirements. When you strip a "particular layer of abstraction" you're not attacking their identity, you're attacking their requirements which may not align with a lower level API.

Because everyone has a right to a gun, it makes it harder to spot the actual dodgy folk because they blend in. So the cop has to treat every inocuous interaction as high risk and high stress.

@Scobleizer @Tuzoff @OpenAI I think that misses the point. Chatgpt is not a developer friendly platform. They can and will likely undercut you at any point. To build a product and business using chatgpt as the platform is an incredibly risky(foolish?) proposition. And that’s bad for the industry as a whole.

@aras_p @smallfly Does the GS data have enough dynamic range to relight from it (in an IBL type sense)? Much harder is to derrive shadows from the geometry. You start getting into subtractive lighting, which I don't think will produce good results assuming you can even solve the complexity issue.

@elonmusk It will never be realistic with any first past the post voting system. These will always devolve to 2 parties with anyone else being called unelectable and therefore a “waste” of a vote. You need to remove incentive for tactical voting so peeps can vote honestly.

@BartWronsk Interesting. I'm really curious what "others" people are considering for their use cases. Is it a particular framework that's very popular, or a spread among many different frameworks.

It bugs me immensely that in ML “performance” is used to describe a models accuracy. Consider the following valid sentence: “Performance may be greatly improved by using winograd but at the sacrifice of some performance.” Infuriating that now we have to qualify it in context.
