BTW, dentistry, which has the largest out-of-pocket percentage and the least monopolized on the provider side, so must be more efficient from the libertarian POV, is still roughly the same: 30% goes to clinicians, just 10% to pharma and equipment/software/supplies, but a 30% insurance “tax” (despite no real underwriting/risk) and 30% admin/RCM/collection. And this is the same in most countries in the world since dentistry is usually not covered by the universal system, except South Korea and a few others
@Nick_Davidov Yep, one more reason why single-paye/universal systems in all the other developed countries are so much more efficient and effective. But the Republicans love to support quasi-monopolies, so there you go
@Nick_Davidov@RachelWeissman9 An interesting dilemma for voters and political contributors in tech: what’s more important — lower taxes on their wealth or more opportunities to grow it?
@fintechjunkie Do you think Innovator’s Dilemma still applies to this world or it’s not that relevant considering the cost of building is going down to zero and incumbents can always catch up with something that shows signs of traction?
@AureliusGrndl72@Nick_Davidov@CottageVirginia There’ll be no legacy of his, come on, it will all be dismantled by the republicans themselves not the least. Everyone’s just waiting for the snake oil salesman with the cult of people like yourself to finally go
Big talk, but we’ll see. Studies show that the effects of tax increases are negligible, despite anecdotal evidence of some individuals. Not the least because many states will follow suit
And I’d gladly pay an extra 5% not to live in a desert without meaningful businesses or people around. And I bet you will too. There’s simply no free lunch
@amorriscode@bcherny Thanks! But turns out you silently added Haiku for some agents despite Opus being selected. I understand the reasons, and I’m using Sonnet for some agents myself, but would love more control over this. How I found it: because it made a silly mistake based on the outdated dataset
@demishassabis@GeminiApp Can you combine Google AI Mode chats and Gemini, pretty-please? I use AI Mode a lot and it’s super-convenient and probably the best UX among the AIs so far for most scenarios, but the fact that it lives in a different app is kinda strange
@willknight Well, ours would basically vibe-code your treatment plan, same CLI interface and stuff. Don’t know if you’re put off by this idea as a patient but they are excited
