Why does COPE fight for meal programs for kids?
Here's one reason.
This study found that school meal programs not only helped kids in poverty to get the nutrition they need, bu also *lowered prices at grocery stores for everyone.*

Great to see cuts to City’s grant for school meal programs reversed by unanimous vote.
Now bring back Renters Office, restore library hours, end the supportive housing ban, become a Living Wage employer again, and invest in desperately-needed social infrastructure.

We are in full support of the motion being brought by Councillor Fry and Councillor Bligh, to restore school food program funding for the coming year. Thank you to IUOE Local 963 for their continuous advocacy on this important issue!
