GREENPEACE: ‘Overpopulation’ is a distracting myth that takes the focus away from the real, solvable problem: Overconsumption.
ME: "If the world's wealth were shared equitably there'd be no overconsumption as all would be on around 15K USD pa. That's poverty for all, yet we'd still be in 1.7 planets overshoot due entirely to the sheer number of humans on the planet (ie overpopulation).
Of course, the top 5%-10% need to cut consumption, but billions deserve more.
Our situation is far too serious for political correctness to over-rule the facts. BOTH overconsumption and overpopulation must be addressed.
