Way to shit the bed, Elon. Find me at [email protected] if you still want to follow. I should post more since the fediverse is way less doomscrolly and prone to being wrecked by cranky billionaires.
@KitOConnell Not quite. :( Did you add this code? jQuery('.metaslider ul').removeAttr('aria-live'); There's still an instance of aria-live. Maybe jQuery('.slides').removeAttr('aria-live'); instead/in addition?
Got my first app store rejection today because, among other things, my audio-only game's blank screenshot is not an accurate representation of...a game that renders nothing. Excuse me while I contemplate why there's such a huge employment/prosperity gap for disabled folks.
@KitOConnell Awesome, happy to chat with them if needed. Hopefully it's just a checkbox or they can just remove it completely--they really shouldn't do that. Thanks!
@KitOConnell I viewed source--maybe it's called metaslider? Essentially what you want to do is remove aria-live="polite" from your HTML however you can, then the problem will be gone. Thanks again for all your hard work!
@KitOConnell BTW, minor accessibility nit on your site: you've got a plugin of some sort that displays slides or a carousel, and every time its text changes, my screen reader reads it. Can be distracting. There is a workaround but folks might not know to use it.
@BorrisInABox I've had to restart some Windows terminals half a dozen times just to get one with accessible output. May not be the same issue, but I'm getting sick of this "roll 1D6 for accessibility" approach the Windows ecosystem seems to take.
And it's out! My second game, System Fault, is an audio-only, Berzerk-inspired tactical arcade shooter. This is a free early access demo with some embarrassing issues, but I don't care. :) Enjoy it anyway. Constructive feedback welcome. https://t.co/ODYiqbfZsl
I'm not exactly sure how this firework shortage is supposed to work, but if the nightly volleys from my neighbor's yard are any indication, 2021 sucks so hard that it got shortages wrong. Was actually looking forward to that one.
@jcsteh Sorry to hear this. FWIW, I'm right there with you. Much of the industry is just a bunch of posturing, smoke and mirrors as far as I'm concerned, and I no longer have the patience to put up with it civilly.
@Big_D01 Yeah, I hate that too. From where I stand, that antimalware service looks more and more like malware every day. :P Linux made it so easy to find resource hogs.
@Big_D01 I was sure that it was one of the many open VSCode windows, or the various Electron apps, or the VM, or... Firefox completely flew under my radar, particularly since it barely registered in Task Manager. Completely overlooked it until one day I killed it and *poof*.
@Big_D01 Are you using Firefox by any chance? You said you had nothing open, so maybe not a factor, but I recently switched to Brave because Firefox randomly killed performance.
Hey Twitter. Remember me? I still exist. :) Debating whether or not to promote myself after years of silence. But I'm still around, and doing (potentially) cool things.
