Hey storm chasers, mets, and weather enthusiasts — I’m Brandon Walls, Chief Engineer, CISO, and founder of @TorCASTWX.

My severe weather journey kicked off in earnest back in 2017 with the Georgia Storm Troopers — a 501(c)(3) volunteer organization dedicated to weather education, community alerts, and on-the-ground storm response across Georgia. What started as chasing and monitoring threats in our own backyard (right after those devastating Albany-area tornadoes) quickly grew into something bigger.

As an active Board Member and contributor, I built tools like Dorothy — an early automated alert system that helped the team relay faster, more precise local warnings.

That hands-on experience chasing storms, issuing real-time updates, and seeing the gaps in public awareness pushed me to merge my broadcast engineering roots with deep meteorological insight. The result? TorCAST — a next-level platform that doesn’t just track radar, it surfaces the maximum plausible severe potential before storms fully organize.

From 3D visualizations and AtmoSlice to the real-time TPI (Tornado Potential Index) that flagged threats hours early — every feature is rooted in years of real-world storm trooping across Georgia.

This isn’t just software. It’s the evolution of lessons learned in the field since 2017.

@911NewsBreaks If you are living near powerlines and have thunder that loud, it is the lines vibrating from the force of the thunder. I have experienced this many times. Same thing happens when you have strong winds hit the lines.
