@PSLToFlushing@EvanRobertsWFAN Swap out Torrens for Alvy and Melendez with Slater & this is the lineup for much of May till someone returns from the IL. I’m all for letting the kids develop, Joe, but, respectfully, this strikes fear into literally no opponent, nor does it excite any Met fan 😔
@PSLToFlushing@EvanRobertsWFAN Am typically in your camp, Joe. Genuinely, though, how long should they wait? Does he have to experience a slump? What if he doesn’t? Yes, his ascension has been quick. But he’s earned it every step of the way. If he keeps playing like this, he’ll earn the call up once again.
"You're trying to pursue perfection in a game that you are highly likely to fail in. That is a pursuit of suffocating circumstances. It sucks the joy out of baseball.
I've had coaches in the past...when you win, it isn't a celebration that you won. It's a collective deep breath that you didn't lose.
They're trying to play to perfection, to not lose, so that they don't feel like that every day, instead of reminding themselves why they started playing baseball in the first place."
@jerryblevins reacts to Luke Weaver's comments and the Mets' collective mentality amid a brutal April along with @gappleSNY on Mets Post Game Live
"Not good enough, obviously. Not a secret. That's not going to do it. You've got to start winning series, period."
Carlos Mendoza on the Mets' 3-6 homestand:
@AnthonyDiComo Not many are saying it’s his fault. But there were times in his 1st year when Mendoza went w/ his eyes & feel over what the analytics said. Melendez is having himself a good game. The tying run’s on 2nd. Who do you want up? The guy having a game or the guy hitting under .200?

@PSLToFlushing@NYNJHarper Philly’s move shows urgency and accountability. Thomson’s not the reason why they’re 9-19. But still, the team’s performance is not good enough. Just wish Mets would have a similar mindset. They’re 47-74 dating back to 6/13/25. How is that acceptable?
