Twelve. I earned fifty cents per hour pinning dry cleaning tags on clothing and stapling the matching tickets on the customer receipts. I was over the moon to have my own money to purchase candy and ice cream. At thirteen I worked at Gil’s Ice Cream in West Hollywood’s Farmer’s Market. At fourteen I was bagging groceries at Boy’s Market on Santa Monica Blvd, watching little four yo Drew Barrymore and her mom coming in for groceries regularly. I worked consistently at different jobs until having my first son at 26, and even then had home businesses. When I was young I always fibbed about my age to get around child labor laws. I have never not worked at something.

I remember when the Internet was just making its way into the public consciousness. Fax machines were still widely used and wireless phones were a novelty for the rich. Overnight, things changed and the technology to utilize the World Wide Web expanded 100X or more. Many were made rich, to be sure, but more importantly our society was advanced in ways impossible to predict or quantify at that early stage. I know a good bet when I see one, and I bet on Elon’s vision for space as utility and travel venue.

Aside from foreign visitors enjoying their first impressions of America, which is wonderful, I notice something else: these folks are almost all normal weight and are marveling at the enormous portion sizes normal Americans consumer. We might want to get a clue.

Elon has provided a trillion dollars of value to humanity. You need to go back to school to learn economics and understand that Elon having a trillion dollars on paper is not taking away from anyone else. He is growing the pie for everyone else and increasing good for our world as a whole.
