The DEA has released its updated report confirming what advocates and researchers have pointed out for years: there has never been a reported cannabis overdose death. Meanwhile, the CDC reports about 178,000 people die from excessive drinking each year. https://t.co/TWRnLYokcm
When you find the coolest people on earth, they aren’t sitting in some high-dollar restaurant, they’re floating through south Louisiana on a homemade camp boat, with a pot of rabbit spaghetti simmering and everybody swapping stories like family.
These aren’t ordinary houseboats. They’re custom built bayou camps sitting on sturdy aluminum barge hulls, part fishing camp, part weekend getaway, part floating front porch. Some folks piece one together with salvaged materials and plenty of elbow grease for around $10,000 to $30,000. A nicely finished, ready to enjoy version can run roughly $50,000 to $150,000, while the big, fully custom setups, with all the comforts, craftsmanship, and extras, may land in the $250,000 to $350,000 range. ⚓️
What does “choice“ mean when someone else is holding the oars? In “Row, Row ROE versus Wade,” Ariana, Kylan, and Myaan take a childhood nursery rhyme and turn it into an argument about bodily autonomy.
The boat becomes the body. The oars become control. And a song about moving gently, downstream changes completely when women are no longer allowed to determine the direction of their own lives. The poem moves between humor, anger, history and fear, but one line carries the argument
“WOMEN CAN’T ROW A BOAT WHEN THE HANDS OF THE OARS ARE NOT OUR OWN“‼️

I don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled recently in South Dakota.
It's called 'Dignity' and was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation.
