3 main takeaways everyone should know:
1. Proof-of-History (PoH) is not a consensus mechanism
2. Vote transactions are absolutely necessary for consensus, not a mechanism to artificially inflate TPS
3. Solana does not currently implement programmatic slashing

Application developers, and to a lesser extent, users, should understand the context of transaction inclusion in a canonical block and the different confirmation rules. There are respective reorg risks at each commitment status and one should keep in mind the tradeoffs when balancing UX and the security properties associated at each point.
