Dr. @KevinSabet in @WashTimes: Drug legalization was election’s biggest loser
https://t.co/HdKsAcAOFp
“This rejection is not limited to marijuana: Voters in Massachusetts were skeptical of another “wonder drug” and defeated Question 4, which would have legalized for-profit psychedelic centers and the growth and distribution of homegrown psychedelics.”
Dr. @KevinSabet’s letter in @TheFP
https://t.co/pAIE6PNXe6
“The normalization of psychedelic drugs should concern us all. Not only do these substances pose harm to nonusers (last year, an off-duty pilot tried to crash an Alaska Airlines flight while high on magic mushrooms), but the psychedelic craze is reminiscent of other addiction-for-profit industries. Our country is still reeling from the public health disaster resulting from Big Tobacco’s flashy marketing, celebrity endorsements, deceptive health claims, and ignorance of scientific evidence. Tobacco companies even marketed to women, specifically, by promoting the false message that cigarettes are empowering. We should learn from our past and endorse a platform of psychedelic use prevention, not run headfirst into another public health disaster.”
Marijuana's risks are often underestimated.
One person's story: 4 months in the hospital, 18 months to recover from delusions.
It's time to talk about the hidden dangers. Like if you agree.
Despite the financial backing, FL's legalization initiative fell short, leaving many to question the power dynamics at play. Listen as TDR unpacks the outcome, delving into the influential role of grassroots campaigns and bipartisan voices. https://t.co/5cMXf2UUzr
