I’ve lived by Streatham Hill for almost 18 months & as an industry professional I cannot understand why @SouthernRailUK only diagram 4 car 377s on the Vic - London Bridge services on Sunday, totally inadequate for the demand. This 1620 ex Victoria just now!
🚍⚡️ London now has more than 3,000 zero-emission buses, around a third of TfL’s fleet, ahead of Clean Air Day. Up from just 30 in 2016, the milestone supports cleaner air and lower emissions. TfL has also upgraded lighting at around 12,000 bus shelters to energy-efficient LEDs.
First ultra-rapid EV hub opens at Hatton Cross near Heathrow as part of Fastned–Places for London plan. The 12-bay, 400kW renewable-powered site offers 24/7 charging and will be free 15–19 June 2026, with 25 hubs planned across London.

@JRailVolunteer@CPTrains_YT I was originally looking at a dive under but didn’t want to replace the bridge due to needing to purchase all shops on it and then I realised that The Baring Hotel building is Grade II listed - not on the bridge but next to it. Potential risk of complaints so went for the tunnel.
Transport for London is consulting on plans to extend the DLR to Beckton Riverside and Thamesmead. The scheme could support 30,000 homes and 10,000 jobs. Construction could begin in 2029, subject to funding and approval.

@paultrowntree@greatcreator147 Yes, an extension is dead if it’s a standalone extension that isn’t part of a wider restructuring scheme that aims to reduce the very crowding that makes the extension prohibitive in the first place. This was also something I discussed in the series.
@paultrowntree I do realise that Kent Coast services currently pass through Brixton. The Victoria line extension isn't proposed alongside the existing Southeastern network; the service restructuring was covered in Part 1 and Parts 2 and 3 build on those changes.
@paultrowntree@greatcreator147@mark_townend Interesting, thanks for sharing this . The thing that always looks odd to me is that the tunnels intersect Brixton at ~90deg and point towards Herne Hill. My question is did they also change their mind about an extension via Streatham Hill?
@CLondoner92@MrTimDunn@citytransportin If LU didn’t want them anymore, I was curious why the 1983TS never ended up on the Isle of Wight considering that they were just 14 years old and the IOW had 1938TS/Class 483’s at the time
@salingergregor They investigated doing that but it required building a new sub surface Barking Riverside station adjacent to the existing one so they didn’t take that idea forwards.
@TheoSandler I think 4tph in direction round the loop would be decent and seems possible but Wimbledon’s single platform might be the issue as the trams took the other.
@JRailVolunteer@TheoSandler Interesting, If there’s enough demand the platforms at Bromley North and Sundridge Park look like they might fit more than a 4 car train. 6 or 8 cars maybe?
@TheoSandler@JRailVolunteer I lean more towards restoring direct services. It requires modifying Grove Park in the long term but Bromley North would likely be the best link from Bromley into London if it were direct, so it might be worth the investment. I estimate about 27mins as a stopping service to CST.
@JRailVolunteer Ah I see what you’re saying, if there’s enough space to build that then that would probably be the best solution so that the Lewisham Junction wouldn’t be required. The issue is whether the newish buildings are too close or not:
@JRailVolunteer That’s a good point, I removed the extra crossover into P1&2, if it’s just for ECS moves then the Lewisham Junction could keep the other crossover. The reason I swapped the viaducts was to reduce crossing that junction so one route is SAJ-LEW-HGR and the other is NHD-LEW-BKH.
