The Ñ Fund

The Ñ Fund for Latinas in Journalism

[Helen Ubiñas @NotesFromHeL]

Two years ago, almost to the day, I founded @The_N_Fund. With the help of ✨amazing donors✨ we’ve so far funded two internships through @VocesInternship. Meet @marielaesqui12 and @mediabyemi. ❤️ To learn more, and to donate: https://t.co/Fq6biw8uab

[Kate Farrish @FarrishKate]

It made my day when I received my @The_N_Fund t-shirt in the mail from @NotesFromHeL. Thanks! You can support Helen's fund, too with a donation at: https://t.co/hEoz1ejHOy

[Helen Ubiñas @NotesFromHeL]

When I created @The_N_Fund, I wanted to get more Latinas into newsrooms that wouldn’t just let talented Latinas slip through their fingertips or walk out of their doors. Abby is rocking DC, but I have no doubt that one day she’ll be back home to run these journalism streets. ✊🏼❤️

[Helen Ubiñas @NotesFromHeL]

Finally got to meet @VocesInternship IRL today! I say this often, but I truly could not have dreamed up a better organization to partner with to fund TWO @The_N_Fund interns. https://t.co/Fq6biw8uab Welcome to Philly, friends!

[Helen Ubiñas @NotesFromHeL]

Took @The_N_Fund international to @journalismfest. One day I hope to return to talk about how my small fund to increase much-needed Latina representation in newsrooms turned into a dynamic foundation. Dream big, right? #ijf24 For info or to donate: https://t.co/Fq6biw8uab

New batch of @The_N_Fund T-shirts. Added a few in various colors to keep our cause of increasing Latinas in journalism super cute. https://t.co/Fq6biw8uab

💫RECAP: These last few days we’re reflecting on everything we’ve done & preparing for next year.

In January we began our partnership with @The_N_Fund! Donor support got us here!

💫Help us start 2024 strong by raising $2000 to round out our second year: https://t.co/I1okU5hama

Excited for year 2 of this iconic Idaho + Philly team-up 🎉

[Voces Internship of Idaho @VocesInternship]

🚨We are also excited to announce that we have received a SECOND grant from @The_N_Fund! (Check them out!)

💫We are also able to continue the trend of having not just one but TWO interns thanks to continued support from @ScrippsHowardFd and donors LIKE YOU 🫵🫵🫵

🔥❤️ When I created @The_N_Fund a little over a year ago, I had no idea how lucky I would get to connect with @VocesInternship. This Philly-Idaho collab has now resulted in two - 2!!- internships for Latinas in journalism and I could not be more proud! https://t.co/Fq6biw91ZJ

[Helen Ubiñas @NotesFromHeL]

Some personal news.😏
🎉It’s my birthday!
Ok, it is — but that’s not really the news.
🚨@The_N_Fund for Latinas in Journalism is 💃🏻THRILLED💃🏻 to announce that we’re funding another @VocesInternship.🚨 https://t.co/mmrQrRd9gI

I interviewed the mightiest of writers for the @MightyWriters podcast. I also spoke with an emerging mighty writer, @marielaesqui12, from Idaho- the first recipient of @VocesInternship via @The_N_Fund. Listen, subscribe & be inspired by storytellers! https://t.co/9AFKF9d2Dq

[Maureen Boland @mcgboland]

I spoke to @marielaesqui12 for the @MightyWriters podcast. Mariela received @The_N_Fund via @VocesInternship, a scholarship created by @NotesFromHeL to support Latinx women in journalism. Mariela tells stories at @BoiseDev.

Check out the Mighty Mighty @marielaesqui12, in her @The_N_Fund T-shirt. 😍 So proud of her and looking forward to the next recipient of The Ñ Fund. Is that you? For info: https://t.co/mmrQrRd9gI

[Helen Ubiñas @NotesFromHeL]

Having a cry first thing in the morning wasn’t on my schedule today, but listening to @mcgboland work her empathetic magic during our @MightyWriters conversation really got me - especially those last few minutes. I hope you’ll give this a listen: https://t.co/Md8fc3jo8R

[Maureen Boland @mcgboland]

Thanks @NotesFromHeL & @marielaesqui12 for talking to me about @The_N_Fund & work @PhillyInquirer and @BoiseDev. It was an honor for @MightyWriters! Producer @SojournerAhebee of @Rowhome_Audio is ALWAYS KEY but maybe especially so in this episode about women of color in media.

[Voces Internship of Idaho @VocesInternship]

We can’t wait to listen to @BoiseDev reporter and Spring 23 Voces intern @marielaesqui12 chat with Voces partner @The_N_Fund !💃🏻
