I’ve been staring at this post for a couple of days now. I’m simultaneously in disbelief and weirdly elated by what it has suddenly illuminated.

We have spent nearly three years trying to prove that Israel’s war against Hamas doesn’t fit the definition of genocide. We have said that those who allege it, like the DSA, are distorting the definition; that Israel had a right to defend itself; that, in fact, it was Hamas that had genocidal intentions against Israelis.

But what this statement accusing the US of committing genocide against Cuba suggests is that something much simpler is at work.

It shows that the DSA don’t even think about genocide in the same way everybody else does.

They aren’t distorting the well-known definition. They have simply assigned a different meaning to the word and forgot to tell the rest of us.

It’s similar to the way they’ve quietly redefined the terms Zionism, anti-Zionism, fascism, apartheid, colonialism, imperialism, white supremacy, and others, driving us all crazy in the process.

In other words, we are not dealing with a serious accusation as we understand it. We are dealing with a translation problem.

That lowers the stakes substantially.

Instead of marshaling teams of lawyers, military experts, and historians of the Holocaust, we need teams of linguists to study DSA-speak and help translate it into normal-speak.

We need dictionaries, translation apps, and appropriately trained LLMs. Not a small task, to be sure, but highly doable.

An academic project hosted by Cambridge University platforms creationism, the belief that the world was created by God in seven days. It promotes an academic paper demanding that schoolchildren be taught to “actively resist” the science of evolution.

At Charles Darwin’s old university, where a college is named after him, Darwin’s discovery is now described by one Cambridge researcher as an example of “potential challenges posed by Eurocentric monoculture.”

It is the latest sign of fundamental problems at Cambridge’s education faculty, the same department which hired Jason Arday.

The project which platforms the creationist claims, the Islamic Educator Learning Community (IELC), is led by Cambridge’s assistant research professor of education, Farah Ahmed, a former activist in the since banned terror group Hizb ut-Tahrir..

IELC is “hosted by” and “partners with” a university body called the Cambridge Teacher Research Exchange, Camtree.

IELC publishes on its website, with a Camtree address, a paper on “Islamic scientific critical consciousness” . . .

The paper says that “countering colonial hegemony in science education for Muslims” could include “identifying gaps in fossil records to make the case that the evidence of humans descending from apes is inconclusive.”

On Tuesday, in the wake of the Jason Arday scandal, The Spectator revealed that Ahmed had been given the prestigious assistant professorship. We noted that in a 2002 pamphlet, republished in 2017, she attacked ‘western education’ as a ‘threat’ to Muslims, condemned democracy and integration, and criticised British schools for teaching that child marriage is wrong. Like the paper’s author, Mirza, Ahmed has also said that modern science is a problem, because in the “teaching of evolution, Muslim children will be exposed to ideas that contradict Islam.”

After that story created a storm, the education faculty took decisive action. It removed the names of all its staff from its website, presumably to stop anyone who doesn’t know about web archive tools checking to see if they’ve hired any more wrong’uns (spoiler alert: they have

Other action has been less forthcoming. The faculty clearly hopes to ride this one out, issuing a statement that it is “committed to academic freedom and freedom of speech within the law.” Well, we must reluctantly agree that Ahmed – benefiting from the democracy she condemns – should have the freedom to say that English is “one of the most damaging subjects” a school can teach, or (while teaching at Cambridge) write that Muslim students shouldn’t have to worry about “gaining literacy and numeracy and other disciplinary skills demonstrated through qualifications.”

But that’s quite different from believing that Cambridge University should fund her to promote her ideas to the future leaders of the country.

Still more indisputable is that a university subject, even one as debased as Education at Cambridge, should not promote baseless, anti-scientific twaddle in the name of academic research.

Behold the human wreckage of the cult of diversity. The tragedy of Jason Arday is that he was both built up and destroyed by the ruthless machinery of DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion). The academy made him into the golden boy of its philistine project of ‘decolonisation’ and gave not one thought to what the consequences might be if his thin story unravelled, as it inevitably would. No one can deny it now: wokeness makes false gods and real tragedies. . .

This is the poison chalice of the state religion of diversity. It lays traps for the very people it celebrates. It handpicks members of ‘the oppressed’ for moral anointment and institutional gushing while leaving them open to exposure as others start to query their credentials. That’s the toxic bargain of identity politics: it builds teetering pedestals for ethnic-minority thinkers, meaning their fall from grace is often twice as fatal.

And what a pedestal they made for Arday. They worshipped him as ‘the best in the world’. They beatified him as a black wunderkind whose very presence in a place like Cambridge might help to wash away its sins of whiteness. They canonised him as a living monument to ‘decolonisation’. It was precisely this, their giddy, narcissistic desire to manufacture a kind of black saviour, that made them turn a blind eye to the questionable elements of Arday’s CV and life story. They sacrificed their due diligence to the god of decolonisation.

And Arday suffered. He was both poster boy and sacrificial lamb of the diversity crusade. Even as he gained from it – reaching the dizzying heights of a Cambridge professorship – he was being damned by it. The foundation of myth and sand his starry career was built on was untenable. Its collapse was a given. It is a testament to the ideological blindness of the inhabitants of our ivory towers that none of them foresaw it. . . .

The Faustian ruthlessness of it all is mindblowing.

. . . The media is the only institution in this entire tragic scandal that did its job properly. Journalists found a story and they told it. It was the academy and Arday’s colleagues who failed to do their jobs. Who failed to prize merit over identity, and failed to foresee the public embarrassment that would befall their falsely promoted friend. They ignored the truth – the media found it.

I and others have been arguing for years that the politics of identity is a disaster for all, black and white alike. White kids are overlooked, black kids are patronised. Whites are branded ‘privileged’, blacks ‘oppressed’. Whites are seen as the beneficiaries of historic crimes who must atone for past sins, blacks as history’s perma-victims who require the gracious helping hand of the state. We are demonised or infantilised according to the accident of our race.

Enough. Let our monument to Jason Arday be the restoration of the true ideal of equality. We couldn’t save Jason but we can save merit from the monstrous jaws of identity.

I am bewildered, and not very impressed, by the visceral, naked, irrational hatred spat out by some defenders of Jason Arday. If a Cambridge professor is accused of being an unqualified charlatan, the accusation might be racially motivated. On the other hand it might not, depending on the evidence. The correct question to ask is not, ”What is the colour of his skin” but “Is it in fact true that he is an unqualified charlatan?” Please examine the evidence before leaping to the assumption of racism.
As for the idea that journalists “piled in on him” and “hounded him to his death”, most attacks were against Cambridge University. Jason himself was widely regarded as an unfortunate victim of foolish promotion way beyond his ability to cope. In appointing him to a professorship for which he was manifestly unqualified – in ludicrously describing him as “the best in the world” – certain senior members of the university showed a level of patronising condescension towards black people that could fairly be described as racism, while at the same time making him tragically vulnerable to such attacks as came his way.

As you know, throughout the war we have exposed hundreds of luxury restaurants, abundance, and widespread obesity in Gaza. This deeply infuriated the Islamists, who—after failing to find genuinely emaciated people in Gaza to fit their narrative (aside from chronically ill children)—did everything possible to hide the extreme abundance, restaurants, and obesity that Hamas and its supporters have been swimming in.

After sharing many of these findings and doing my best to contribute to a more balanced, accurate picture, my previous account of 125,000 followers was taken down.
Beyond losing monetization and being permanently shadowbanned, the entire account was flagged for "graphic content" simply for showing overweight men in Gaza with man boobs. When I submitted an appeal requesting human review, I received an automated rejection within less than a minute stating that "your account displays sexual content."

Now, they are naturally coming after this new account to take it down as well, aiming to keep blinding the world with their lies and silencing the truth, just as they always do. They are overtaking X with their coordinated reporting—a platform that was theoretically supposed to be the last bastion of free speech for our side—just like they conquered half the world and social media platforms, all while playing the victim and convincing the West that it is the actual conqueror and aggressor.
