As you sit boiling in the heat, never forget that all those people who for decades have deliberately and maliciously disrupted efforts to tackle climate change are probably sitting comfortable in their large air conditioned houses.
Those houses were likely funded on the back of lies and misinformation they helped propagate.
I'm in the greatest worry still is the people who own these AI companies the big companies have all admitted they don't even know how it works.
Is unbelievable that is being adopted by family countries especially in the UK where they're using Oracle Which is tied to the USA and Israel defence companies and all that implies.
A I is all about money, it's not really fit for purpose yet in my opinion.
Some fun activities to do in the UK heatwave
1. Curl up in a ball on the floor and cry
2. Go outside in your underpants, stand in the street and shout aggressively for absolutely no reason then come back inside and cry
3. Take a nap in a pool of your own sweat and have fever dreams about a non-existent appliance in the UK called an air-conditioner then wake up and cry
I can’t fully explain to younger people how cool the internet used to be. We had open forums, personal websites, weird experimental pages, and chaotic corners of the web, before Amazon, Google, and Meta turned it into a sterile, closed ecosystem of clutter, and commerce.
“Water, soil, and oxygen should not be infinitely accessible. They are assets that should be included in global economic balance sheets.”
This is not satire. The World Economic Forum wants to monetise breathing.
@OrevaZSN I have a small farm in Nebraska and try to be water aware. I stopped buying flowers to water and now only water food and animals, but to have a man whose yacht has a satellite yacht that has to travel with it, because his yacht is too big to go into ports, lecture others?
@OrevaZSN Wow! Sustaining baseline human comfort (aka as access to the water we need to survive) should be sacrificed on the alter of super intelligence?
There is something seriously wrong with these ogliarchs.
@OrevaZSN 2 centuries ago the people would've led him to the gallows. Now they're so weak and apathetic that they can do nothing about these monsters anymore.
Self-checkout lanes are a scam to make customers do unpaid labor for massive retail corporations. They eliminate cashier jobs to save money, yet they don't pass any of those savings down to us. Then they have an employee stand there and watch you like a criminal while you scan your own groceries.
If I am checking out my own items and bagging them, I deserve a 5% discount on my entire receipt.I will gladly stand in the one open human lane just to avoid using those automated machines.
If adults are truly concerned about children's access to social media (which is undoubtedly harmful), parents should stop their own children from using it (rather than delegating their parenting to the state).
The same parents who currently give in to the demands of their children will also give in to them after the ban is implemented. As a former headteacher, I worked with thousands of parents. I've witnessed the pattern countless times.
The social media ban for under 16s will do nothing to safeguard children against harm, as evidenced by Australia. In fact, the opposite is true.
The vast majority of children in Australia are still on social media sites, except they're now "adult only" sites.
The social media ban is really about digital ID.
Britain will be one of the first democracies in the world to require IDs in order to access the internet openly.
We are sleepwalking towards a total surveillance state.
@johannesmkx Apple and Google if they were run by real human beings and not monsters and AI programmed to be monsters, would simply deny all sales and service to the pariah state that is the UK.
We are ruled by idiots.
Do they not know every 15 year old revises GCSE’s on YouTube?
Do they not know that teenagers track their friends are home safely on SnapChat?
Do they not realise that - especially in rural areas with no transport - teenagers social lives are on… social media.
Do they not know that teenagers will find ways round - as has been shown in Australia.
This ban is illogical and damaging.
If I hear another parent say “it’s so hard to police them” I’ll scream. It’s a parent’s job. Take responsibility the children you are meant to be bringing up.
It is not the government’s job to look after your children.
But the government will now insist all adults provide ID to prove we are over 18.
😡
🚨Tech Secretary Signals Fresh Assault on Privacy: “We’re Coming Back for More” With VPN Bans and Extra Measures 💬 🚫
Starmer’s regime is barreling toward full-blown authoritarian control and they’re not even hiding it anymore.
Just days after rushing out a blanket social media ban for under-16s, the Tech Secretary is already on the airwaves admitting they’ve got no real answers on enforcement… yet proudly announcing “further statements in July” on VPN restrictions, curfews, chatbots, and more crackdowns.
Before the first ban is even rolled out.
This isn’t about protecting kids. It’s a thirst for surveillance and censorship. They want zero privacy. They want to know exactly what you’re doing and saying online at all times. Age verification, facial scans, VPN blocks – the infrastructure of a digital police state.
Starmer is an authoritarian with no real mandate, racing to ram this through before the public boots him out. No detailed plan, no proper scrutiny, just more control.
This country is being f*cked by a government obsessed with power over people.
JUST IN: UK Government clarifies adults will still be able to use social media by verifying their identities with digital IDs, facial recognition, passports and credit cards.
