Thank you to my viva examiners Martin Blunt and Sebastian Geiger for the interesting viva discussions.
Coming to your local bookshop soon:
"The impact of heterogeneity on capillary trapping during geological carbon storage" by Dr Harris.
Incredibly happy to share that I successfully defended my PhD!
A huge thank you to my supervisors Samuel Jackson @sci_sjj, Sam Krevor @TheReaderSam and Ann Muggeridge for everything. And to all who made it possible - it's been an incredible adventure!
Just completed a 3-month UKRI internship at the UK Government Office for Science (GO-Science). A wonderful experience where I got to understand how scientific research is used to inform policy. Thank you to my amazing team for hosting me β it was a pleasure to work with you all
It was useful to gain insight into how the civil service operates and how systems thinking is used when designing scientific evidence reports to inform policy. Hopefully futures thinking on chronic risks will help to create a more resilient framework for the UK in the future.
Congratulations Dr. @AnoukLHermitte (from @Petit_Group) and Dr. Anna-Maria Eckel (from @rosteadys group) for successfully passing your Viva. Nice to ketchup with former PhDs and futur Doctors from @ImperialChemEng@imperialcollege
Wishing you all happiness and success.
The end of an amazing winter school at Myrkdalen with @csd_uib! Very thankful for the wonderful experience: fascinating talks, sunny ski slopes & even the Northern lights paid us a visit ποΈ

On the last day of our Myrkdalen winterscool @csd_uib we look back at a fantastisk week with science and networking. Almost 60 participants of more than 20 nationalities. Thanks to our main lecturer Hamdi Tchelepi @Stanford and the other contributors! #northernlights#porousmedia
New Blog Alertπ’ This week, @The_ScienceCat tells us all about her work, which brings physics and geoscience together to explore locking up carbon dioxide within the Earth! A great explainer blog for those interested in #climatesolutions.

Last week was the first ECR Net Zero Conference co-organised with 8 other research centres! Such a pleasure to collaborate AND witness the fantastic vibe of 200+ ECRs networking & sharing insights across disciplines. Hear from some of them here - https://t.co/QPTijYt1OH
Thank you @Bustamaths@GrahamPBenham for hosting me at the CCS modelling workshop @ucddublin this week! Great to present my research and to meet so many people interested in the mathematical modelling of carbon storage π
@UCD_Research
Ms. Catrin Harris (Imperial College London) @The_ScienceCat gave the second talk of day 2 of our workshop, with an excellent presentation about her current PhD work on modelling the impact of heterogeneity on geological CO2 storage.
One thing we LOVE doing at the UKCCSRC is enabling connections and collaborations and, thanks to our ECR Collaboration Fund, @The_ScienceCat has recently finished an amazing one with @sci_sjj@CSIRO and @PprogressU
Read about her experiences here - https://t.co/bzWgSiGNp9
Also the oppertunity to attend the Interpore BeNeLux chapter meeting in Hasselt @InterPoreTweets - Lots of interesting talks/posters and many lovely people met!
