@spargles No, the reason being because over here there was genuine fatigue about the debate around it. Labour's stance wasn't clear, whereas Boris had classic line of "getting Brexit done". So it wasn't about yes or no to Brexit, more like a clear leadership on it.

It sounds like what he's saying is people descendant or immigrants here can't have extreme views, cuz they have a personal vendetta. But shouldn't that apply to all people who have extreme views?

Children of immigrants who despise other immigrants probably shouldn’t be in charge of immigration policy. They often seem to be dealing with personal issues that shouldn’t be anywhere near the political space. People who protected & defended their parents might do a better job.
