The United Kingdom is a great country but we face a profound economic crisis.
That’s why I am standing to be Leader of the Conservative Party and your next Prime Minister.
I want to fix our economy, unite our Party and deliver for our country.
@spargles No, the reason being because over here there was genuine fatigue about the debate around it. Labour's stance wasn't clear, whereas Boris had classic line of "getting Brexit done". So it wasn't about yes or no to Brexit, more like a clear leadership on it.
Why is Michael Tracey talking about something he has absolutely zero knowledge about? To try and correlate what's happening here in the UK to support of Ukraine shows how immature and bad faith you are.
The dramatic political instability in the UK apparently has nothing to do with the UK’s dramatic policy decision to “stand with Ukraine” by self-imposing an economic recession. Based on prevailing commentary, you’d hardly know this was a factor -- or that it even happened at all
We delivered on energy bills and on cutting national insurance.
We have continued to stand with Ukraine and to protect our own security.
And we set out a vision for a low tax, high growth economy – that would take advantage of the freedoms of Brexit.
After 12 years of Tory failure, the British people deserve so much better than this revolving door of chaos.
We need a general election, now.
My full statement:
Iran and Russia are doing to Ukraine what they did in Syria. At least this time, the world is taking notice. When it was Muslims who were dying, it pains me to say, far fewer people paid attention.

The British people rightly want stability, which is why we are addressing the serious challenges we face in worsening economic conditions.
We have taken action to chart a new course for growth that supports and delivers for people across the United Kingdom.

@lxglb Insane if this actually happened, in the long term it ruins lukashenko, but doesn't this force Ukraine to fight on two fronts. If in fact they come from Belarus
@JulianRoepcke I actually appreciate genuine reporting all that matters is what's true. The people who only want to hear good news do their cause no favours
@whtz9000 @idvck The idea that any reporter in Ukrainian who had ever talked about it or does is a Russian propagandist is possibly the stupidest shit ever.
This doesn't excuse anything Russia has done.
@whtz9000 @idvck The very specific far right people being talked about are those in the military. I never said other European countries don't have far right people wtf, they do and we should OPENLY talk about that. And Ukraine shouldn't be an acception to that rule.
I get the point James is making, but this comes off very problematic.
It sounds like what he's saying is people descendant or immigrants here can't have extreme views, cuz they have a personal vendetta. But shouldn't that apply to all people who have extreme views?
Children of immigrants who despise other immigrants probably shouldn’t be in charge of immigration policy. They often seem to be dealing with personal issues that shouldn’t be anywhere near the political space. People who protected & defended their parents might do a better job.
We get it and we have listened.
The abolition of the 45pc rate had become a distraction from our mission to get Britain moving.
Our focus now is on building a high growth economy that funds world-class public services, boosts wages, and creates opportunities across the country.
