I was able to pivot to IAM through my experience with Active Directory while working in tech support.

IAM certifications aren't as tough as something like the CCIE, yet they can command equally impressive salaries.

Here's a secret: you might not even need the full IAM certification you're studying for... as long as you're consistently building and showcasing marketable IAM skills.

I've seen firsthand how dedicating just a few hours a week to mastering a practical, marketable IAM tech stack can be enough to land an IAM role, even without formal IAM experience.

In fact, someone in my own community successfully pivoted this way, securing an IAM position purely based on the practical knowledge they demonstrated.

Remember, even within IAM, there are niches and sub-niches - each with unique demands and opportunities.

Focus on building skills that directly solve real-world problems, and your marketability skyrockets.

Stop overcomplicating your path with unnecessary certifications.

Instead, get strategic about your skill-building and positioning.

The market rewards practical ability and targeted expertise.

Dive into IAM, find your sub-niche, and let your skills speak for themselves.
