Does Chidimma have a case?

Nigeria embassy in SA issued Chidimma with a Nigerian passport in September 2024. She used the passport to apply for SA Visitor Visa. DHA rejected her application because she used fraudulent bank statement.

In December 2024, Home Affairs cancelled Id of Chidimma and her son after waiting for 3 months with no response from her and her parents about where she was born and how they obtained ids. She became a prohibited person.

Chidimma entered illegal in SA through Lebombo border while still a prohibited person in June 2025 allegedly claiming to be a South African.

Even though an illegal immigrant and especially a prohibited person has no legal recourse to apply for legal status, Chidimma made application of good cause for her ban to be reviewed and also made application on behalf of her son.

In March 2026, DHA minister Leon Schreiber dismissed her applications and upheld her ban from the Republic.

Chidimma was caught still in RSA in June 2026 and was arrested, then released on bail after a day. She is currently going through court fighting against deportation of herself and her son.

Her mother is currently on bail waiting for her own trial in the identity theft and misrepresentation.
