Do you remember the offensive line last year? It was absolutely horrible. It got Sam Darnold destroyed in the last 2 games of the season the year before and nearly killed Carson Wentz. You can’t have Justin Jefferson doing double moves with a shitty offensive line. When that’s the case you need to adjust your offensive scheme and Kevin O’Connell doesn’t do that

The only reason it’s a good decision is that being named the backup at this point is the better position to be in with half the fanbase angrily breathing down your neck waiting for you to make one mistake and then screaming for your replacement which undoubtedly will happen.
